the plains

Terrence walked quickly to them. His face was split open by a broad smile. Perhaps this wan't a really good idea, because of his reputation with girls, but she had asked Safyre to talk to Vaala, Terrence's dragon.
"Welcome to the Whispering Plains." he even bowed. Iyru smiled, the girls giggled and the boys looked rahter bored.
"What can you tell us about this place?" Dirk asked. Iyru looked at the young man of 17 years. He was a fast runner, and a proud young man as well. You could see in his eyes that he was smart and he showed it as well. 
"Well.. Why don't I start with Renny? She's my Flitter. And she brought some friends." Terrence smiled when all the girls looked with there bright eyes to Renny. 
One girl walked to Iyru.
"Iyru? Why is that flitter following me?" It was Linsay. 
"It means that he likes you. You just impressed a flitter." Iyru hugged the girl and said: "You have to give it a name.." 
"Euhm.." Linsay thought deeply, then her pretty face lighted again "I'll call you Dart because you're so quick!"

It was already getting a bit darker, and they had a long way to walk back too.
"Terrence. We should be going back. Thank you very much."
"You're welcome Iyru. Students."
"Iyru? Could it be possible that I could stay here? I would love to learn more about these dragons and the way they live." Dirk said when the others were already getting up from the soft grass they had been sitting on.
"Terrence and your parents have to agree. Don't you want to see the other places?"
"Yes I would, but then I'm afraid that I'll miss the hatching."
"Oh.. Dirk, you know what? Why don't you subscribe yourself in the library, and then when the time is right, Terrence will call you. And that way, you can learn more about the other places too."
"It's a deal." Dirk smiled and shook Iyru's hand. Dirk insisted when they got back to the main base to subscribe himself in the library. Oisin helped him with it. 

At night

Dirk walked slowly to his house. Still with the dragons on his mind, he was sure that he had to go there. Even Vaala had said so to Terrence. Dirk knew that Terrence had wanted a girl, but Vaala was really excited when she had told Dirk secretly.
Dirk had loved the place there, and he was sure that he could be usefull to Terrence as well. And it didn't really matter eventually once he would have a dragon that he could call his friend.
His best friendMax had a girlfriend in the class, but he didn't really want one yet. Firts a dragon and then.. perhaps.. one day.

He had heard Iyru say that they would go to the Swamp next. He was sure that he wouldn't like that one bit, but dragons were always fun.
