Ivana started her motorcycle and drove away, not looking back at the canal where she had dropped off the tape. Even if it was found within a few days, the tape would be destroyed enough to render the images vague and blurred.
She entered the city again and drove through it toward the industrial sites. The lanterns became rarer, until all that lit the road was the front light of her motor cycle and the logo-lights of the companies.
Ivana followed the road that led to the office buildings of Solit and her contractor. She shivered for a moment when she thought about the woman she was working for. And then controlled herself. Cerces could smell fear. There were rumours about what she was planning to do with the device, though they couldn't all be true.
Ivana stopped her motor and parked it in front of the main building. She looked up and saw the light on the top floor. Cerces was bound to be there and she would be pleased to receive the prototype. Ryan walked to the desk where the nurses were busy chatting with each other. The young man scraped his throat and waited for the nurses to notice him. Finally, after their conversation about the attitude of the new doctors apparently was over, one of them, a rather dashing redhead approached him.

"Ryan Erikson."
"Ok Mister Erikson, please sign the visitor list and I'll tell you the room number."
Ryan signed the form and waved at Merxes to follow him. For some reason Merxes never approached a desk full of nurses. Ryan couldn't help smiling, maybe it had had something to do with an enchanting young woman named Izabel that Ryan had heared tell about around the office.
"They are in room 549, 6th floor."
"That's a lot of stairs."
"Would you rather take the elevator?"
"I already did my share of stairs this night."
Merxes pushed the button of the elevator and they waited for it to come down. It took about 5 minutes before the elevator finally responded to their request.
"We could have been upstairs already." Ryan said as he entered the elevator.
"Yes, but we'd have been winded from all the stairs." Merxes said and shrugged.
After another few minutes of stopping and shifting between floors they finally reached the 6th. Ryan and Merxes left the now crowded little space and walked through the logical maze architects called a functional hospital. Boards above each hallway told them what rooms lay ahead.
"This is the room." Merxes said and knocked.
