"Enter!" Ovi's voice yelled loudly.
"I hear she's ok." Ryan said and grinned. Everyone loved Ovi from the first minute they met her. She had a friendly face with brown eyes behind light designer glasses. Her mouth was full and broad, with a tendency to laugh. But she was also serious and dependable, the qualities of a true friend. Maybe her degree in Psychology had enhanced her natural abilities, but a good friend she would always have been, even though the statistical facts now and again irritated him.
"The day she's not loud the world stops turning." Merxes answered and went inside.
"How are my two favourite girls?" Merxes asked.
"Not so familiar!" Ilandra said, and then slower: "We were lucky."
"We're just glad to see you boss." Ryan said and hoped no-one would call him Rookie at this time. He had made himself rather useful and though he understood that they didn't want to risk his young life, he wanted to take some action now and again too.
"Thank you, Ryan." Ovi said and smiled at him.
"How come you always know what I'm thinking?" Ryan asked.
"It's in your eyes." Ovi said and winked.
"What was he thinking?" Ilandra asked.
"Nothing important," Ovi quickly said, knowing it would be better to keep this between her and Ryan. She had always liked the young man. From the moment he had wandered into their headquarters, she had known he was good for the job. With a little training he'd become as good a fighter as Ilandra and as good a judge of character as herself.
"How's Raven?" Ilandra asked.
"He's guarding the place for the rest of the night and looking for clues." Ryan said.
"So you didn't catch him?"
"Her apparently." Merxes said before Ryan could.
"Her?" Ovi asked.
"Ivana Rickall." Ryan said, letting the R roll on his tongue, "Raven also said she wasn't doing it on her own. It was all set up. Even the bo..."
"The bomb. Yeah, we should have known better." Ilandra said.
"I would have done the same." Merxes said.
Exactly." Ilandra remarked and smiled, "WE should have known better."

Halfway across town, a dark raven sat on the roof of the Solit building. Raven looked down and carefully flew toward the window. His alter ego was a big bird near extinction. People might get suspicious if they saw one flying around too often. He looked in and scanned the room.
Ivana was in the center of the room waiting in front of a desk. To the right of her stood three men, none of which he knew. The closest to Ivana was the youngest of the three, a boy, not even in his twenties with blond hair and blue eyes. He was also agile and flexible. he'd be another thief.
Next to him, on the other side of Ivana stood a dark long man. His face looking like a bird with a beak-like nose. Every cell in his body seemed to be angled. He had black hair and big black eyes that seemed to move apart from each other.
The last of them wore extravagant glasses and designer clothes. He was medium built and not used to standing because he constantly flipped from one foot to the next.
Their eyes were all focused on the chair where -presumably- their leader was sitting. Raven knew he'd have to get in to take a closer look, to see who he was up against. He had to get inside anyway to find a clue. He needed to bring something to the others that could account for his midnight trip to Solit.
