First Snow of Winter

First snow of Winter's Season
Is here at dawn today
Pure, untouched by thought and reason,
Not yet fallen astray

I fight the urge to wander
And let my spirit glide
'bove what fell this very morrow
Free while I myself hide

And as I look clouds gather
In the sky above me,
Dreaming in this blissful weather
Forever I shall see

The small sparks of rainbow light
That ever round me swarm,
The flakes of glistering star-white
So cold they're almost warm...
