Part 6: Eriadu
"Stop him!"
Eriadu turned to see a blong girl chasing a big man about a few years older than she was. Come to think of it, she knew the girl. She lived in her block and wasn't exactly nice to anyone who didn't look as good as her. Maybe she wasn't unfriendly, Eriadu would rather call her ignorant. Eyrien didn't know that there was life beside her on Lyria.
"Excuse me... Don't I know you?" a voice asked behind her.
Eriadu turned and faced a dark handsome man that she faintly remembered. Why wasn't her visual memory as good as the one for sounds? Eriadu rubbed her hand absentminded through her long brown hair and finally found the answer.
"Iagador!" she said relieved to have found it.
"That's me... and who are you?"
"Eriadu. I'm surprised you still remember me. What am I again? The cousin of your great aunt twice removed?"
"Something like that."
The screaming remained in the background. "What is that?" Iagador asked.
"That is one of my blockneighbours called Eyrien. I don't know what her problem is but I don't want it happening to me."
"She sounds upset."
"She is most of the time."
"I'll help her." Iagador shrugged.
"You can try, but you'll never loose her afterwards." Eriadu warned him.
She looked as Iagador followed Eyrien, then passed her and finally grabbed the man Eyrien had been following. Probably some other victim of hers.
"Eriadu!" A familiar voice shouted behind her.
"Yes?" she turned to see Ryan and a boy she didn't know. She had some mixed feelings about Ryan. He was a little younger than her and she knew he fancied her... but he just kept to himself. And until she was sure Eradu wouldn't make a move.
"Did you see a blond girl running past you?"
"You mean Eyrien?"
"You know her?" Ryan asked baffled.
"Yeah, she lives in my block, strange that you haven't noticed her. Anyway, Iagador is helping her."
"Iagador?" Ryan asked.
"A friend of mine. He just came back after a 2 year hike. We all said he was crazy but it did him good. What are you doing with Eyrien."
"She spoke to me and kept following. Like a lost puppy." Ryan wryly smiled, "This is Lattio... someone she ran over and demanded an apology from."
"Sounds like Eyrien alright."
Iagador and Eyrien returned, Qatar safely between them. Eriadu wondered for a moment why Eyrien would bother to deal with a man so unlike herself. He didn't look a fashion slave at all. Then what had he done to get her attention?"
"So this is Eriadu." Eyrien said.
Eriadu turned around and got a pretty good idea of what had happened when Ryan's face flushed red.
"Well!! Give her your present" Eyrien insited... "Guys."
"You bought something for me?"
"Well I did and then Eyrien kept insisting it was wrong." Ryan remarked.
"Hey! That isn't nice!" Eyrien said.
Ryan gave Eriadu the scarf. He really hadn't wanted to give her his present with all these people around. It just felt awkward, nothing like him at all. But Eriadu accepted the gift and put it around her neck. "It's beautiful." she said smiling at Ryan. The next move would be his again.
"Now that I know so many people around here again. Could someone point me to the glade?" Iagador asked. "I think I want to see a little more of the forest."
"Sure." Eriadu said, "Anyone else coming?"
Everyone agreed. Everyone still had reasons to stay with at least one member of the group. Ryan wanted to ask Eriadu about her feelings toward him, Eyrien wanted to but in, Lattio wanted to ask Eyrien about his powers...
"Heat boy. You are resistant to heat... happy now?" Eyrien answered.
All but one didn't want to go. But Qatar didn't have a choice.
