The Fourth Movement

Chapter 18: Lyria
When Sezanee stumbled out of the vortex she called: "Be careful, they might be following." Everyone looked nervously at the vortex since there was little doubt just who the 'they' Sezanee spoke of were.
But as time passed, the gate closed and no-one had followed them through. The nine of them breathed a sigh of relief and then asked Sezanee a bunch of questions.
"I don't know if they got in, I suppose they could have been afraid, but somehow i doubt that. They just didn't land here because they were too close to the ending words and most likely dropped out of the sky before they reached our end.
"Exactly where is our end?" Lahranne asked, trying to make sense of the unknown surroundings, again a forest, but only around them, they themselves were standing on a large clearing, with a stone structure in the middle.
"This world is called Lyria." a woman's voice said, "And as for your questions, there's only one reason you could be here for and that's to bond a dragon. There are 5 species on this continent, Water, Air, Earth, Fire and Spirit and candidates are asked to make a choice to where they want to go."
"Dragons?" Ruben asked Sophia.
"Divine intervention moves in mysterious ways. if water nymphs and oracles are real, why wouldn't dragons be? Even if they came from another world."
Sezanee dragged Jonayk along and said: "We'll be going to Water dragons."
"Where do you intend to go?" Mezanine asked Lahranne, "I'm kind of interested in the Air type. I've always liked high places."
"Me too, but I will choose Fire because I need to return with a fighting passion. I need a strength I think only fire can give me."
"I'll join you." Ruben added.
"Tokei," Lahranne asked, "I have a favour to ask you, would you please accompany Mezanine? I don't want to separate, but there's no other way."
"It will be my pleasure." Tokei nodded.
"Wernyv and Me will try the Earth dragons," Renoud said, "Where else would a forester go?"
That left only Sophia, "I'll go to the temple, it's my kind of place anyway."
"The temple?" Mezanine asked.
"For a spirit dragon." Sophia clarified.
"Then I just need your names and you'll be sent off immediately. I wish you luck, if you have any questions don't hesitate to come back here and ask."

"Where are we?" Sekai asked.
"Some kind of different realm or place." Kuruma said as he struggled to get up.
"A different world." Barune said calmly, comforting the scared Thekardien as the boy tried to get away from a scary-looking, but beautiful woman.
"Indeed it is, my name is Thyrza and I assume you have come here for a dragon? let me tell you they aren't as easy to get as they are on the Northern Continent. Our dragons need steadfast bonders who don't mind getting their hands dirty and who won't run screaming if they see a little blood."
"That won't be a problem." Arrenji said, "But dragons, this intruiges me."
"Follow me then, if you're so eager. I'll need your names before I drop you of at the Core for a trial. If you pass the dragon's test you'll come out stronger, if you don't you'll be food."
"Sounds fair." Barune shrugged, following the woman without a single doubt, carefully leading Thekardien by the hand. Arrenji followed close behind and even Sekai and Kuruma decided to follow, though not very willingly.
