Veryi Desert

Watched over by Jack and Desert Zand

Habitat:
The Desert that nearly touches Cyari’s equator and ths is the Southernmost point of land on the planet (except maybe some rock-islands in the ocean) is filled with sand and rock. The grasslands fade into Savannah and then into dry dustlands that change constantly due to the winds moving the dunes. Therefore there isn’t a set building that keeps the candidates and staff, but a nomad-styled tent-village that, same as the desert, moves constantly.

Life forms:

The Dragons: Desert Dragons
Appearance: Desert Dragons are large regal dragons with a calm, authorative way of behaving that suits them well. They have a long, slender body with muscled arms and legs. Their wings are made up of a durable material that is not seen anywhere else on Cyatri, it keeps most of the sand of and allows the deserts to take shelter behind their wings. Even so, as the dragons get older, more small dents and even holes emerge in their wings. The Deserts have long, spiky hair that catches more sand than most riders would prefer, but it serves as isolation in the colder nights.
Lastly, Desert dragons adopted the custom of covering the more fragile parts of their bodies against sand and heat. They wear strips of cloth around their faces, and paws.
Colours: Red, Orange and Yellow/Beige
Temperament: Fiery and Noble
Special Power: mild telekinesis, they can control minute specks of sand, causing storms, but they can just as easily avert them.

The Pets: Featherbees
Featherbees are small snake dragons with feathered wings. They are very well adapted to the extremities of heat that they have a hard time surviving anywhere else. They enjoy sunbathing, racing and just irritating people with their presence. They are like cats that way. Featherbees are lenient when it comes to ownership. They have no problems being given away or traded and usually live in large flocks of their own, only now and then taking a fancy to a human and then returning after a few years have passed.
Also there are rumours of a strange type of featherbee, a wild, fanged version that seems less developed evolution-wise and is hardly ever seen. These have been dubbed Wyld Roamers, yet it is unsure if they even exist outside the minds of the people who claimed to have seen them.
