The Planet:
Cyatri is the third water-based planet in a neighbouring solar system of the human’s native earth. It is a little smaller than earth and a little further from it’s sun, but all in all the conditions are about the same. Cyatri’s name was derived from both it’s rank as well as it’s colour as seen from space. Cyatri is a cyanide blue planet, covered with water with only one landmass on the Northern hemisphere. The total landmass is about the size of the Eurasian continent on earth, but oddly shaped into an ‘M’-figure. The ocean expanding the continent can be quite wild when the two moons, Chance and Kayli, pull the sea in the same direction, however mostly the moons work against each other, causing the seas to be calm and mysterious. The part of the ocean that lays between the legs of the continent is usually sheltered from the worst storms and serves as a haven for seacreatures that can’t seek shelter in the extreme depths of the ocean, in times of need.
The reason why the military sought out Cyatri are both practical and necessity. The military only recently acquired the means to travel the distance to Cyatri in little over a month. Going further doesn’t belong to the possibilities just yet. That covers the necessity. But the location of Cyatri is also practical. As stated before the conditions are very similar to those of earth, and the dragons that have hatched on Cyatri originated from earth, so the military needed a planet like Cyatri to do the research on. Also, from the defence sight of view, Cyatri qualifies as a good outpost to monitor outer space for possible threats to earth.

Life Forms:

The Dragons:
General Appearance: All Dragon Tears dragons originated from a sample of DNA of an extinct unknown animal that could only be described as a large lizard, but living more recent than the common dinosaur. This made some experts conclude that the sample was a fraud, a sham. But one scientist dared to dream of dragons. She filled in the blanks and added in variations, noting that the DNA was highly mutable.
When the first flits and dragons had hatched it became very clear that the surroundings in which the eggs had been kept, were of a tremendous influence on the look of the dragons. Most of the habitats on Cyatri were used to breed as many different dragons as possible, but still some strange dragons emerge on occasion (for instance Fairlight’s aphrodisiac caused by a spilled potion)
Dragon Tears dragons are very differentiated. Not one looks much like the other species. Some have wings, some have flippers and some even lack limbs or have sprouted extra pairs. But what all dragons have in common are some basic powers and that each kind has it’s own specific power.
General Attributes: All dragons can control portals to other areas on Cyatri. Some even can be taught to jump to other worlds, but that drains their energy tremendously and is not something easily done (but they can be aided by people possessing the skill to teleport). All dragons can also communicate telepathically with each other and humans but each species also has their own language they use for talking to one another when only dragons of their species are around. It is considered impolite for them to talk their dialect with other species present, humans apparently don’t present that great a problem, but most dragons are respectful enough to keep the humans in the loop.

The Pets:
There are three kinds of pets on Cyatri. Of course there are the indigenous animal species that have proved themselves useful and were easily adopted by the first settlers. The second kind of pets are the miniature dragons and gryphons that were born from eggs that hatched too soon, or in bad conditions. These creatures are thriving on Cyatri and seem to have found a place in the wild, as well as in the dragon Aiden's were a few of them are always present tending their own eggs until it's time for the hatchlings to impress.
Third and last type of pets are the more mysterious pets that have something to do with the coming of dragons to Cyatri, but it is unclear how it all fits together. This category consists of one single species of pets, the ghostwings.
