Personality: Valiant and righteous, the years have turned Midnight a bit stricter than his younger self would have liked. But this gryphon has learned the benefits of rules and regulations, especially when introduced early on. They become a foundation to rely on. He is a very moral entity, with a clear sense of what is right and wrong and little room to maneuver in between.

PURSUING FATE
Midnight decided on a stroll around the island. He could have flown, but there was something to say for a walk between the bushes and trees. Although to be completely honest, he needed to descend quite a bit to get to those trees and bushes. Midnight had claimed one of the highest dens available in the Lantessama Isle mountains. The gryphon quite liked his little roost. It wasn't particularly deep but it had a perch that offered a good view of the ocean and the air was crisp. He had few neighbours but that had it's own benefits. And if he truly wanted to mingle, like now, he could always go look for companionship.
"Goodday." he told the Laedrys when he saw her on the road.
"Hello." Cyan responded. She'd been busy tending to her greenhouse when the morning sun had lured her on a walk, much like Midnight had.
Midnight wondered if more was expected of him but as the Laedrys remained quiet, enjoying the breeze, he relaxed as well. But then the Laedrys remembered something:
"How would you like a mate or bond?"
"Excuse me?"
"Oh, it's nothing you should worry about. We just got a notice of a clutch of gryphons. Think about it."
Midnight returned to his perch, and stayed there for a few days. He had a lot on his mind. He'd had a quite unusual upbringing. Could he care for a chick, raise them and help them grow? Would their bond be parental or would something more develop? None of his booksmarts could help him determine the answers. But as the days went by, he felt in his heart that he would like to help out a fellow gryphon.
So Midnight returned to Laedrys Cyan and told her he would go.
"Brilliant. The clutch is at Academia de Magica, it's a magical place - if the name wasn't a giveaway - and I've been told the gryphons are of an endangered breed. They will be thrilled with your presence."
Midnight gave a little nervous cough, but accepted the responsibility he knew he'd bear.
Not much later he set off to the Academia and just a short while later he witnessed the hatching of the Thedosian gryphon eggs. The gryphons were not unlike himself in looks and colour. They had magic but that came down to study. After introductions and explanations, Midnight had begun to relax. Being in a place of study helped a lot. He would find the information he needed and help out his brethren!
And then he was entrusted with a tiny life.... a fluffy chick with a reddish coat and bright green eyes. A chick with an affinity for the arcane but with a penchant for play and silly quests. And yet he could not help but love his Ginger.
