Description: Kane is a stout young man with a dark skin and light brown hair. He has high cheekbones and protruding ears. His dark eyes are warm and inviting. Despite his size he does not seem threatening. Kane usually dresses in light colours and he favours patterns.
Personality: Kane is gentle and compassionate. He is slow to act and prone to daydreaming and thinking about silly things. Most people would deem him dim but that would not be true. Kane isn't going to correct them though as he is quite happy to stay out of the spotlight, living a calm and quiet life. He prefers the company of animals to that of other humans.
Family & Community: Kane has been adrift since his parents passed away. He was an older teen at the time and not without his skills for survival. He left his town behind as a means to alleviate the grief but finding a new place to grow roots has been difficult.

STORY
Kane wandered around the Aerie. He'd been travelling across Alskyr, hopping from island to island by boat or dragonback when the opportunity struck. He'd been away from home for three years now but though homesick, Kane knew that he had no home to return to. The town existed, his house existed, but the people that had made it his home were gone. Dead and burried. He knew he'd been running from the grief but had realised along the way that he'd also been dragging it with him. He would never escape.
Just as he'd been thinking about his options, a gryphoner had picked him up. And now he was here at Haven Aerie, enjoying hospitality and following lessons and training to see whether or not he could bond a gryphon. Becoming a gryphoner had never been something he'd thought about. he'd always assumed he'd work in his father's smithy or as one of the cattle farmers outside town. he'd always been good with animals. Maybe this chance was a way to make something of his life.
He'd followed his feet to one of the public rooms. Curious he entered and saw a decent room with a heart and some tables and chairs. In front of the heart was a nest with eggs.
"Alis gryphs." the caretaker explained.
While the caretaker told Kane about the do's and don'ts the door opened again and a lanky boy with curly hair entered. Presuming that the boy wanted an egg, Kane took a step aside and allowed him to come closer. They were each given one egg. As Jemin stayed in the room, Kane decided to do the same. In fact it was probably the best thing to do as someone more experienced was close by to help.
It didn't take all that long for the eggs to start cracking. Distracted by his own egg, Kane didn't notice Jemin stumbling and next thing he knew, he was on his back on the floor, clutching two broken eggs to his chest and locing eyes with two brown-grey alis gryphs. They had a small sharp beak, striped wings and a fluffy tail. And they were hungry.
Jemin was out the door before Kane could ask for help. Dejected after the caretaker had told him there were no more eggs.
"I guess I'll just have to take care of you two on my own." Kane said to his two new companions.
"I'll call you Duvido." he said to the paler one, "and you'll be Hatao." he addressed the other, "Let's get along."
