The Sultans of
Gender: Non Binary
Title: Vezir al-Qalam of the South-West
Description & Personality:
Fadil is dark-skinned and slender, moving with a slow elegance. Always
languid, Fadil seems to be slow but is actually using every extra second
toward brain power and analytics. Fadil has long, braided hair and usually
dresses in the ochre colours that his home is known for.
Fadil is the minister of
education, economy and work, a powerful but also flamboyant
person who's name means "virtuous" and "generous".
Fadil enjoys working but likes to confuse others even more and has played
mind games with the best of them, yet always manages to leave people
satisfied after making a deal. As a successful diplomat and Vezir, Fadil
will likely hold on to power for years to come.
Heritage and Bio: Fadil grew up in the
relative relaxed towns of the South-West region. As the fourth child in a
large family, Fadil never imagined being the one to be chosen to lead the
people of the South-West. But fate works in mysterious ways and the
unlikely candidate ended up in the seat of power.
Bond: Perlino dun leopard appaloosa Leukippos
(m) from the Heimdall
The turn out for noulicorns had been larger than expected, with
dignitaries from several worlds boarding the Heimdall just for a chance at
a little orphan fawn. The fawns themselves had arrived with names of their
own and burgeoning personalities. Some a few weeks (or months) older than
the others, but all of them young enough to be altered in accord with
Zar's wishes. Like firelizards into old worlders, Krum and her team had
made the fawns need to bond. Turned it into an obligation. They'd been
placed in cryopods after the change, waiting for the best moment to be
Now, the lot of them were carted into the recreation room to face the line
of waiting candidates. The hatching bay was of course in use for something
else and throwing the fawns in the hatching bay with Vilifyss and their
sedated kin was not something anyone had been heartless enough to suggest.
The pods opened simultaneously while a small legion of biologists hung
over them, reading vitals and easing the little fawns to wakefulness.
Spindly legs and broad ears peeped over the edge of the pods, then in a
spill of knobbly knees the fawns wobbled onto the slick floors. They were
tiny, most of them the size of small cats. A few bleated in their
confusion. At first, they huddled together, nervously twitching ears and
tails. Krum picked up the sound of hushed conversation between them -
grogginess, uncertainty, questions about the strange itch between their
The need to bond took over and a few of the bravest broke from the group,
heading toward candidates.
All three sultans of Schwung had returned to
the Heimdall after the pager and mingled together in the center of the
crowd. Krum had seen little of them since their initial check-in, and
although it would have been nice to strengthen political ties she was
grateful they were among the number to use Mwari Station for
accommodations. A practical lot. Perhaps she'd see some of them in the
hatching caverns as well.
But not all of them.
A pale leopard spotted appaloosa strode with head high toward their trio.
He examined each of them closely before fixing his eyes on Fadil.
"I'm Leukippos." The fawn cracked a
sly smile and bowed.
"I have a lot to learn from you, Fadil, but I think we'll do grand
Fadil adjusted their robes and crouched down to Leukippos' level. "Is
that so? Let's get you fed and discuss your ideas."
Leukippos perked, losing some of his formality while his tail swished
eagerly at the mention of food.
Fadil blinked to make sure he was really home. Hakim had arranged for
transport that hadn't relied on their funds. And that was a good thing as
Fadil's riches had dwindled considerably in the months they'd spent at The
Heimdall and it's neighbouring worlds and stations. The entire trip had
been a unique experience that had broadened Fadil's view even more. But
still returning filled their heart with joy. Schwung truly was home. The
light, the sounds, the scents. And they weren't even close to the city
with it's colourful people and wonderful spicy dishes.
"I sense some problems, but none that are very
dire." Leukiposs quietly shared in their joined mind.
"That's good to hear." Fadil relaxed.
The flamboyant vizier could not wait to stride into the council chambers
to see the faces of the other viziers as they introduced their powerful
allies. Nuri had asked briefly if they should leave her bonds outside for
a while, but Hakim had told her with no uncertain words that they were as
welcome as the Noulicorn, even if they looked dangerous. But their plans
did not go as planned. Because when they returned to the government
buildings, they were met with frantic cabinet workers and a silent, empty
"Where is everyone?" Hakim asked the nearest attendent.
"I don't know sir, but I'm so happy to see you."
"This is not a pressing matter."
Leukiposs calmed those around him, "We can
stabilise the current chaos."
And thus the returned three viziers set to working.

Leukippos is a smooth-talking people pleaser, the sort of fellow who would
make an excellent con man but is gripped by the empathy and compassion not
to. He is, never-the-less, quite ambitious and will encourage Fadil to
remain in power for as long as possible. Leukippos adores people - and
adores their adoration for him. He's out to make as many friends as he can
and is eager to prove himself as invaluable. While generally genial and
charismatic, Leukippos tends to be controlling. He can be bossy and
overconfident when the situation warrants it and hates not getting his
Leukippos is one of the few fawns with ties to Homewood's council. His
mother was a council member, and one of the few with young children to
accept Grandfather Tree's summons. Leukippos had hoped to follow in his
mother's hoofsteps and become a politician as well. He sees the move to
Heimdall and the need to bond as a boon.
