HATCHING

Aray dismounted her beige horse and placed it securely in the stables. The horse breesed in contempt as it saw the other horses.
"I know you are better dear."
The horse calmed down a bit and rested it's head on her shoulder. Aray's long golden hair embraced them both as she stroked the horses nose. Would a dragon ever be able to replace her horse? Twinky had been with her for so long now.
"What is taking you so long?" Famine suddenly asked.
Aray's eyes darkened. That controlling little freak had been around her all the time since they had left. He was handy, but a girl now and again needed her privacy.
"Saying goodbye." She said.
"Aray, I swear, I never thought you were sentimental."
"Have you gotten rid of your horse yet?"
"No."
"It just wouldn't be the same. Horsemen is a title that sounds right."
"Then keep her! I'm not so sure we are supposed to ride these hydras."
Suddenly a soft cough reached them. Aray turned and stood eye to eye with a stablebot. He had heard their entire conversation. He must have, she remembered seeing him when she had entered.
"What is it?" she snarled.
"The hatching... ma'am. It has started."
"Since you bring good news I won't punish you."
"I will." said Famine and smiled.
The young boy fled out in terror.
"What did you give him?"
"The worst scare in his life."
"What no disease?" Two could play the game.
Famine looked goofy as he strode out of the stables, pieces of hay clinging to his long mantle. Aray followed, surpressing a smile that would mess up her act. She had been waiting eagerly for this hatching. Depending on the outcome she would consider revolting. Aray and Famine entered the hatching grounds and were amazed. Floating platforms, blood writing on the walls. Aray immediatly felt home. She read some of the inscriptions: "It will rain drops of blood when I'm done with you!" How fitting.
The eggs that had already been shaking now started rocking violently. Aray stepped closer and waited, like all the other candidates seemed to do. And wait Aray did. Endlessly. Finally with only three eggs left, she and Famine were both still standing. Magnificent beasts had hatched and gone by. Aray hoped the best dragons didn't hatch first because then her plans for revolting were doomed. No way would she be able to fight of Satan with a weak dragon.
The last egg of the only hydra with eggs left hatched and out crawled a hydra. And not just any hydra. Pure red with eyes in every colour that seemed to spy everywhere, chisling the room into his mind to never forget. He had long curly horns and his main head snarled as he erected himself fully.
"Aray, it is you I choose!" he said as Aray had expected, "I am Bladion. Now come, we have things to do."
Then the Hy kings stomach growled, almost as menacingly as the growl of a puppy. Aray smiled and followed her hydra to the feeding tables. Maybe not just yet, but one day Bladion would be big enough to take on an army of hydras.

BIPEDRA FLIGHT AT CY DRAGONBSTAKE

Aray and Bladions time in Azon was brief. The dark hydra grew larger every day. A few months had passed when Bladion had reached the size of an adult Bronze dragon. Still no word had come from Satan and Agas about their hydras. One could only assume the hatching their was delayed. This pleased Agas no end. The more time she and Bladion had the better. Of course time was relative for the dragons and hydras. Satan could easily stay behind years before he came back to the time on the charred earth when they had left. Not trying to make sense out of this sentence Aray got up and walked outside.
A little piece of paper flew down to her feet and into her housing. Deftly she picked it up and opened it. The note was neatly folded twice.

We are delighted to inform you about the upcoming

G*non

"Bladion?"
"Yes."
"Do you know what a Bipedra is?"
"A hydra that stands on two legs."
"Really?"
Bladion looked at her, eyes gazing. His opened his mouth ready to snarl some hideous words when Aray turned and said:
"I didn't mean it that way. It is interesting."
"It is?"
"Yes, it will be one more experience you have more than whatever Satan impresses. My song birds have told me the clutch at Arx Atra Mons won't hatch before the flight. Are you up to it?"
Again Bladion snorted. "I'm up to anything."
"Good. I'll go tell Famine to pack his bags."
"You want to take that little rodent?"
"Of course, I can't let him out of my sight now."
