Flight 19
Foliage
Lilimasith and Blood Bleeth
It was 5 am. 5 o clock in the morning when Lili got up to have her flight.
"I knew it!" Mike shouted, "Couldn't you have picked out another time to do this, I still have to catch up some sleep from Bleeth's aubade. Why couldn't you do this at night?"
"I can't be sleepy when I'm flying! And I'm looking good... with the last moonlight and soon the early sun with's it's yellow rays." Lili said,
"You know I look good in yellow."
"Go ahead, whatever happens, I'll hear the story later." Mike said, yawning and crawling back under the
covers.
"This is the most important day of my life and you're just going to leave me? And sleep!?"
Lili yelled.
"That sounds good." Mike replied, nearly back to sleep.
Lili hissed at her rider and surged out, taking off as soon as she left the cavern entrance. She'd show her rider. Looking around, she tried locating
Bleeth...
Bleeth softly pushed Darian. Nothing happened, he pushed again... still nothing happened. This was not the time to dawdle. Knocking Darian head on with his large dragon's fist, Bleeth soon heard an encouraging
yell of surprise.
"It's time!" Bleeth said, giddy as a schoolgirl, eager as a beaver.
"Just go." Darian groaned.
"If you're going to be like that..." Bleeth said,
"Oh well, you'll wake up soon enough." And gone he was.
Lilimasith was already circling the three mountain peaks of Lantessama when Bleeth finally left his cavern. But he wasn't the only dragon with an eye out for the young foliage green. Two blues, a male green and a brown were also taking off to chase Lili.
"They want me!" Lili shouted happily. "Mike will be happy, this is
so good for my ego."
Bleeth however was not as happy. "Hey! You're mine!!!"
Flaming a few of the other dragons and shaking his fist, roaring defiantly, Bleeth ensured that the skies would stay empty. After all
Lili was his alone.
Mike suddenly was wide awake. Darian entered her cavern, looking quite flushed from running all the way to her
apartment, as well as
being only half dressed.
"It's really happening." Mike said, "Is it? Or is it just the
chilli from last night?"
"Great chilli, but I went for the beef with fries and I'm feeling it too."
The golden rays of the morning sun fell through the window, illuminating the bed where Mike was sitting up, her blond hair wavy and radiant. Mike really wasn't half bad in this light, Darian thought. Bleeth thought! Bleeth thought, he reminded himself.
That isn't me thinking. It's just overactive dragon hormones running amok.
Darian didn't look so bad early in the morning, Mike thought, with his hair all pointy and messed up. He also was nicely built. Arching an eyebrow Mike thought:
"What's Lili thinking? That certainly isn't me."
But still both of them felt excited, and their hearts were pounding...
"Where are you, Lili?" Bleeth called, "This isn't the time to play hide and seek!"
"Catch me if you can!" she called back from an unidentifiable point to his right.
They were in the woods now, flying over the trees in the twilight light of early morning. Lili with her green hide was almost unnoticeable against the green of the trees. However, Bleeth stood out like a fish in a desert. He was disadvantaged.
He needed to find his own camouflage. "Red bush, red bush, come on where are you." he asked in vain. There did not seem to be any red flowers at this time around Lantessama.
"I'll have to make do with green bushes then." he said snagging up a few.
Lili at the same time was having the time of her life. She was hovering a slight distance away from Bleeth, giggling at the red dragon's problems. And
then suddenly, he was gone. Where was Bleeth?
"Bleeth?" Lili asked.
"Two can play your game." his voice sounded moving from her right to her left.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
"Looking for you of course. But now you cannot see me and get away."
"But you still can't see me!"
Soft leafy extensions suddenly touched her tail. Keeping very still, she felt something moving over her back to her head. She could not move or Bleeth would notice her, but what was climbing on her head?
"Please not a spider, please not a spider." she repeated to herself.
Then a yellow head arched down. It was her fazzle Bloempje. Lili let out a relieved sigh.
"Thanks partner in crime." Bleeth said, appearig right behind Lili.
"Isn't he cute? he helped me find you."
"No water for a week! oh wait, then you're dead, Two days!"
Bloempje let his leaves drop, that had not been part of the deal.
"Come visit me." Bleeth said, "Soon I'll have to take care of you anyway."
"What do you mean?"
"When you're tending our clutch of course."
"And what about me?"
"I'll catch big fish for you."
"Waffles too! Waffles too!"
"So I can catch you now?"
"I'm already yours."
This Flight continues on Bleeth
and Lili's
