Flight 18
Blinding
Hope Naderenya
and Quartz Planet Klierth
It was late at night when Naderenya started to hum softly. Softly waking
up her bond, she said
"It is time Sekally.."
"Hmm?" With a sleepy head, it
took some Time before Sekally fully woke.
"Oh! Come on then! We have to
go!" Still in her pyjamas she ran to the door.
"Don't you need a coat
or something?"
"Is there still time?"
"I'll wait just a
bit."
Hurrying back inside, and dressing jumping with one leg in her pants, her
two arms in her shirt, she finally got dressed. "I'm ready."
Sekally said with a sigh.
"Good."
When they got outside, the participants were already standing there.
Naderenya was a brilliant light in the night sky, the moon on
a moonless night. She looked at the persons standing below her. There was one
bondless dragon, and one smaller, bright coloured dragon that she knew as
Gaai. It was a sweet dragon, and her bond was a real gentleman. But Sekally
knew that he wasn't meant for Naderenya. Sekally could see that the light he
was searching for was standing almost directly next to him. But the silver
dragon would find that out sooner or later.
Naderenya flew up high, the other dragons followed. Sekally
watched with Naderenya's eyes. At first she was scared. She had lost all
sense of the world, and just felt Naderenya. But then she started to like
it.
Naderenya dived, twirled and shot high in the sky. Naderenya loved it that
all the attention was on her, but she needed to pick one of the dragons that
were right behind her tale.
The first dragon to fall off, was the Blue
Jericonialituiath She had liked the dragon, but she didn't want him as a
father for her eggs, because he would be too busy with his dragon bond who was
ready to fly as well. She bowed quickly for him to make sure that he wouldn't
feel bad. The blue dragon bowed back, but Naderenya did not wait to see the
gesture.
She went to the open sea, hoping that some of the dragons would fall off,
but she was, after all, a very pretty dragon and nobody wanted to give up so
easily. She dived
down, feeling the water with her paws. She had flown here a lot with Sekally,
and she knew every rock sticking out. Teal
Nexus-Marked Black Tii'Alis didn't. He had to change course so quickly
that he fell in the water. Only 3 dragons remained.
But at some point, Silver Stilleth
changed his course.
Naderenya could hear the cry of Gaai. The poor little dragoness was scared.
One of the flower dragons of Cyan was poking her, and although the little
dragon had lots of love for Cyan and her creations, she didn't like being
poked or even pushed around by the snake-like dark green creature that
insisted on breeding because they would make terrifyingly bright children
who would conquer the world. Stilleth saved his little Gaai from the venus
Fly trap that everybody knew as Evilness, hissing violently to him, and
covering Gaai with his wings. Because he was a large dragon, he could still
come back for the flight, but he couldn't leave a terrified Gaai alone. She
was more important than the flights. They went back slowly to their rooms, Stilleth making
soothing sounds to Gaai, and Gaai already forgetting the horrible dragon
with her bond so close by.
The eyes went back to Naderenya and the dragons chasing her. She made a
sudden U-turn, and flew to the mountains. The two dragons, a large blood
dragon, and a much smaller white dragon were following her. The blood dragon
was faster, but that wasn't a real advantage in the mountains on Lantessama
Isle. Being smaller, and thus more versatile, might be more adapted to this
terrain.
It didn't take long before Blood Bleeth bumped
into one of the peeks with his wing. Falling down, he was just able to land
on his feet without toppling over.
His rider, Darian, ran to his dragon and searched his wing. He guided his
dragon to the medicine-bay, just to be sure nothing was wrong with his
Bleeth.
Now the last one, the smallest of all the dragons that had chased Naderenya
was still following her. She had liked that dragon who was named
Quartz Planet Klierth from the start, and was
thrilled to see that he was the last. But he
fell down suddenly, leaving a confused Naderenya who didn't pay any
attention to what was in front of her, searching the skies for the place
where Klierth had vanished.
"Boo.." She heard in front of her. Naderenya looked up in front of
her, and was just in time to see the white male hovering before her. She bumped
into him and they fell to the ground together.
Landing gracefully, they found some moss to lay upon...
Sekally woke up the next morning, and found Taylor
still lying next to her. Relieved that he had been so gentle, even though he
must have felt the urge of his dragon, she kissed him quickly awake.
When he was awake, he looked at her, and she asked him: "Please stay
with me.." He pulled her into his arms and whispered: "I'm never
letting you go."
At the same time, both dragons woke up as well, and Naderenya asked the very
same
thing Sekally had asked to the father of her soon to be laid eggs. And he
just wrapped his wings around
her, nuzzling her neck. He was not going anywhere soon.
