Run 2004 (2)
Another of Girth’s eggs was about to hatch and another candidate
was on her way. Nakan, who was just
beginning to get over a disappointing love affair was actively seeking for
something to occupy her. She wandered around the lake and then took a road
to the edge of the forest, trying to get away from the wind that was
growing stronger.
Nakan looked up and saw the the dark clouds in the distance. She decided
to go back and wait the thunderstorm out before getting caught out in the
rain. But Nakan didn't get to the finish line. Almost there she saw a big
pink bulk hovering above a bush, looking rather worried. Nakan ran closer
and saw a snakelike creature attacking some eggs.
Nakan dashed in and helped fend the weird creature off. Panting, she sat
down and watched as one of the eggs broke right in front of her. A
creature, brown and a bit wilted-looking fell out into her lap, yawned and
smiled before it said naughty: "Want to have
some fun?"
Clouds had darkened the sky and a few drops were
falling. The bunny glider eggs at the furthest edge of the track were
laying without shelter.. The biggest of the eggs wobbled and tipped over
by the added weight of a tear-shaped drop of water.
Breaking when it hit the ground, the egg revealed two small hatchling
males wound around each other, tails and limbs interlocked. Wrestling a
bit the two hatchlings, one purple-yellow, the other orange-sunset finally
got to their feet. Rain started falling harder, while the sky was still
sunny at the other end of the tracks, it poured down and drenched the two
dragonets.
"I guess we’re on our own."
The yellow-purple said.
"I don’t know about that." The
orange-sunset said with a smile, "I don’t
think we’ll ever be alone."
"Until we meet again then, Mirage."
The yellow-purple said, bowing his head.
"Until then, Ghaeesh." The
orange-sunset said before he darted away.
"Oh, by the way, I’m headed for
Nidus
Otykaii!" Ghaeesh
called to his twin.
"Abri!" Mirage
answered, "Good Luck!"
As the sky darkened in the coming storm, something was
stirring in the camouflage biped clutch in the forest. Two eggs remained,
but one of them was close to hatching. The cold sea wind touched the
forest and though it didn’t quite penetrate it, it did change the
atmosphere enough for the hatchling to claw to get out. A clouded grey
hatchling jumped out, gazing at the patches of overcast sky between the
leaves. She wanted to get out before the nasty things would come. Without
waiting to see if a candidate was near she darted out of the forest and
only stayed long enough at the record tables to say: "My
name is Oile and I’ll be going to Nidus
Abri."
The small camouflage biped had barely made it out of the
forest when another clutch stirred. This clutch wasn't as well hidden as
the Camouflage one, but it's contents would have scared away most
candidates. But there were always a few that would not be frightened
easily.
Delsie watched delighted as her hydra brood escaped their eggs, coming
into the stormy air. Her other clutch had been hidden by the bunnies, but
this one she had not let any soft paw touch. Distant thunder merged with
the breaking of eggs and suddenly 16 heads stood around her, hissing.
"We shall do this my way."
Delsie said, "Go find whoever you want, take
them and see if they survive."
growling the hydra babies in the dark shades of Arx Atra Mons walked away
from the clearing toward the edge of the forest and into the waiting
storm. The three two-headed hydras that had all come from the same egg
dashed out first, clearing the way for their siblings.
Two-headed Oil Nyoka ran straight toward the lake, not bothering to stop
when she got there. She ran into the water and finally, all covered by
rain and lakewater she stopped, swimming to the other side of the lake to
stalk someone she thought might be worthy.
The future wasn't quite so well thought out. Halfway through the lake she
ran into Gambit Lanor who was trying
to get as low as he could to not get struck by lightning. He panicked and
gripped Nyoka's head, clinging to her for his life. Not being able to push
the star dancer of, Nyoka gave in and said: "I'm
Nyoka, Gambit Lanor."
2-Headed Smog Smoohk on the other hand stayed at the edge of
the forest, hiding his pale green body in the dripping foliage. His four
pus-yellow eyes looked at what few humans were out in the rain, some might
be right for him, others clearly were not. Smookh waited and finally saw
two humans approach the forest, their leather jackets pulled above their
heads.
"I say we should have stayed in Texas, Deverang."
the blond one said.
"Jail." the much more
interesting man with longer black hair answered, "I
wasn't going."
"Yeah and I got to come along for the
ride."
"Exactly."
"Well I don't see us getting anything else but those monstrosities of
brightly coloured bunnies." the blond one spat out. Smookh
took that as an insult and leapt out hissing.
"Not all of uss are bunniessss."
Then he turned to Deverang and said: "You
showed respect, you is who I shall choose. I am Smookh."
as to emphasize his name a small puff of smoke left his mouth when he
mentioned his name.
Trailing behind Deverang and his hydra, Stadurm
was having a bad day. He was wet, cold and had been insulted by some freak
animal with two heads and an attitude. Even jail would be better than
this, of this he was sure. His angry thoughts drew a small two-headed coal
glider hydra toward him like a moth to a flame.
"Wait up." it said, trying
to make speed while not slip on the mud of the roads.
It's dark body was hardly visible in the thunderstorm, but it managed to
catch up with the trio.
"I am Palyon." the hydra
glider said, "And I don't mind being
insulted, as long as you know there'll be consequences."
his tail lightly brished Stadurm's head, "Next
time it will be harder."
The last of the triplet hydras, a two-headed coal female by the name of
Guye'sel took one look at the weather, shook her head and decided getting
wet was not her thing. She raced as fast as she could to the finish and
ducked under the roof of the nearest shelter shouting: "I
want to go to Sunstone!
At least that seems a nice warm, sunny place!"
Cian walked in the rain,
jumping in puddles and generally enjoying the storm. She was small, a
child, though the look in her eyes was not to be taken lightly. Dep in the
forest she sat down on a log and took out her treasure. The blade of the
knife flickered brightly in a lightning flash.
"Oooooh." Cian said with all
the passion of a child.
She closed her eyes and wondered what the blade would look like with blood
on it. Not that this blade was suited for cutting, it was barely sharp
enough to cut her finger, but still... you could always stab.
"You're not strong enough yet to stab."
a voice said behind her, "But one day you
will be."
"Who's there?!" she called
out startled. She wasn't supposed to play with knives.
"I on the other hand am strong enough
already."
Three red heads with the scarlet satin look of drying blood stepped out
from the shadows. Three pairs of eyes looked at the girl with genuine
interest. "Yes, we are meant for bloodshed.
My name is Slurr."
Legna walked on the tracks and was
trying to figure out what Natas had planned. He had left Legna alone for
quite some time, but usually that meant what was coming was major. Legna
shuddered at the thought. He stepped of the track right into a small
circle of trees and undergrowth. Maybe if he'd just stay here and not come
out...
"That isn't much of a solution." a
voice told him.
"For one, you are weak." a
second said, "He'd have no problem taking
you over."
Legna looked around and for a moment he changed to
Natas
when he laid eyes on the two headed spilled blood hydra glider that was
standing on his left.
"Are... are you going to help him?"
Legna asked with dispair in his voice.
"I am for sure." the second
voice, Rhigorte, said.
"I don't very much like Natas." the
first one said, "I'm Cumea and I like
you."
Relying on Cumea's strength, Legna felt Natas retreat a little further.
But when he opened his eyes again, Righorte was looking at him in a way
that told him Natas would never be gone.
Armand pulled
Hannah
further. She pulled back, calling out that the rain was too cold. But
Armand was stronger and he finally got his twin to come along. Running
through the rain, the two 7-year olds were noticed by few other candidates
out in the rain, and maybe that was a good thing.
Hannah tripped and fell in the mud. She started to cry a bit and really
wanted to go back, but Armand didn't want to turn back, he didn't want to
leave before he had bonded a dragon, preferably something cool.
"You never listen to me."
Hannah cried, running away in the rain.
"hey! Wait!" Armand called
after her, but the rain muffled his words. Nervous and feeling guilty,
Armand ran behind his sister because maybe for once she had been a little
right. But who had ever gotten something from being out in the rain?
A bit further he found Hannah staring at something colourful through a
curtain of rain.
"Ok we'll go back." he told
her.
"Quiet!" Hannah told him, "It
will run away."
"What?"
"The dragon."
"A dragon? Where!"
The brightly coloured hydra bunny stepped closer, it had three heads, one
of which was green, the other was yellow and the last was red. Speaking
one by one the heads talked:
"I am Right! I'm always Right!"
"If you're Right, then I'm Wrong. But that
isn't fair! I won't always be wrong."
"Quit it you two." the
middle head said, "I am Reason."
One of Delsie's brood, 4-headed Smog Sto'uith, looked from the depths of
the forest to the edge. He waited and waited until finally, one very
unlucky human crossed it's path. Jumping out, he completely stripped the
human of his senses and then turned toward the finish line, knowing he
would not be followed by the man. But that didn't matter. His life would
continue elsewhere, on Cy Dragonstake
to precise.
Gambit Lanor, after dropping of his
2-headed hydra was back to flying through the forest. The thunderstorm was
moving ahead and mostly he stopped worrying about the raging storm. Flying
close to the ground he was safe from most dangers anyway, small and agile
as he was. Most dangers though, not all.
A mottled grey hydra glider suddenly flew right across him, grabbing him
in it's claws. A strangely unison voice asked in a childish tone: "Are
you mine?"
Gambit looked up and saw that the hydra glider had but one head... but
still he had the colouring and even a bit of the attitude.
"If you won't hurt me, Sure."
he replied, "Now can we fly straight up
again?"
"My name is Ioseen, mine." the hydra glider grinned.
Vifcaro, running through the rain with
her husky - rain softens the fur you know - was keeping well away from
most dangerous candidates on the beach. The waves crashed with white heads
against the land and she was sprayed wet on regular occasion.
Suddenly Vifcaro stopped seeing the weirdest thing. An egg, was rolling
toward the dunes, almost as if it was afraid to get wet. It was such a
comical sight that Vifcaro laughed before she realised there really was
danger.
Running to help the egg and the dragon within, she nearly kicked the egg
when she got there because the egg rolled another few inches to safety.
Rolling the egg like a big ball she only stopped in the dunes and took the
time to look back. The place where the egg had been was covered with
broken rubble. She had been just in time.
"Yeah, thanks for that." A
male voice told her.
"Maybe we can make it up with you by
staying." A second said, "Ok
kidding, we would have come with you anyway."
Laughing the purple voice suddenly became louder and a 2-headed bunny
hydra, one side purple, the other pink was sitting next to her. "I'm
Aran," the purple head said, "And
this is my brother Mordar." he said pointing to the pink
half.
Walking from the forest, the 3-headed full hydra got quite a few looks.
But Ash Witenvu felt no-one that was his match, no-one that would ever be
able to master him, but maybe there would be an equal on another planet.
"Enzan Shi." he
grinned, "Yeah, there might be someone there... and if not at
least the search will be fun." his bright green eyes whirled with
pleasure.
Rini Riago had left
her mound of chocolate behind and had put her news-bonded bunny to
guarding it, a thing the bunny took as eating it whole before anyone else
had the chance. The star dancer was flying around, trying to find another
dragon her mistress might enjoy to have. It was raining and many of the
human candidates had taken shelter. Rini didn’t need shelter, she could
fly forever.
A movement in a bush caught her attention. Quickly Rini took to the air
and flew over the bushes. Behind the shield of leaves and thorns, a small
hollow was hidden from sight, and in it a bright pink female with her
eggs.
Delighted, the star dancer touched down and immediately a piece of
sugar-coated milk chocolate appeared in her paw. After a short wait an egg
hatched and Rini approached the baby purple hatchling with her candy.
"Are you hungry?" Rini
asked.
Shy, the hatchling walked over to Rini and sniffed at the candy before
gobbling it down. The baby female licked her face and paws and started
looking for more. "I’m hungry."
She said.
"I know, Cerini." Rini
nodded, "Follow me and I’ll bring you to
more food."
Rixth waded through the swampy soil
near the lake and was not feeling very inclined to laughing. There was
no-one around to make fun off and he wasn't in the mood to laugh with
himself. Just when he was about to call it quits and go to some other big
event to get himself a student, something touched his legs. Something warm
and yet very cold. With a surprised look he looked down and only saw a
bright red line swim away.
Running after it he was trying to think what might be in this lake that
could be red, warm AND cold. All sorts of creatures came into his mind,
not many of them pleasurable. Using his two heads to scan more area around
him he suddenly felt a weird urge to look back. Turning around he saw that
same red line and now it was coming straight toward him.
Not being able to keep calm, Rixth yelped and jumped up out of the water.
When he looked back down, laughing reached him, as well as a strange
darkness where there should be some reflection in the shallow water.
"You're fun." a bodiless
voice told him, "I shall like working with
you, I'm Xention."
Eamon was in a bad mood. He hated
rain, well he hated almost anything, and certainly his sister aka the root
of all evil who had gotten him here. She could never do anything right.
All day long she would run behind him, never giving him any piece and when
he yelled she started to cry immediately. Who could understand girls? Who
could understand sisters?
Kicking away some dirt, managing only to get himself wetter than he
already was, he screamed out in frustration. He sat down on a somewhat
sheltered stone near the road and thought that he might as well go back.
It was raining, he wasn't going to find anything out now.
"But I found you." a sly
voice said from the shadows.
Eamon turned frightened and saw three sets of red eyes look straight at
him, "You are afraid." the
voice said a bit surprised. The six eyes came closer and suddenly a
three-headed hydra bunny stood in front of him, "I'm
not that bad." it said, "Not
yet anyway. I'm Vil'Pein."
A short distance from the road where the last impression had taken place,
an egg stirred in a circle of trees. It was the biggest in the clutch and
was certainly chipping some holes in the eggs next to it when the
hatchling finally broke through.
"Finally." one dark female
voice, Hypaë, said, "Brother, sister, rise!
The night is black."
"And wet." the other female voice, Roa answered, "I
don't care for this weather."
Sneezing the third head got out of the egg, this one a male, "Meh,
I could sleep some more. Who do I have to kill for waking me?"
"Hypaë." Roa said
cunningly, "I would never do that
brother."
"You would!" Hypaë shreeked,
"Beside we can't stay here forever."
"It's wet." Roa added.
"Than we shall go." The two
females watched their brother expectantly, "To
the Vella Crean."
As the three-headed poison blood hydra glider left the clutch, it tipped
over another egg that promptly hatched into a two-headed dried blood. The
two male heads looked up expectantly at their older siblings, but were
rewarded only by a hiss.
Ovoringo, hearing a strange sound in
the bushes, came over to investigate. He only just missed the exit of the
poison blood trio and found the two-headed dried blood crooning pitieful.
"He just ran us over!" one
voice said with a loud sob.
"And he didn't even stop to say they were
sorry!" the other male voice said with a strange feminine
ring to it. It then went back to making the high piercing tones it had
made before.
"Ehm... are you ok?" Ovoringo
asked, his twisted body arching over the hydra glider. His big eye bulged
with a sickening yellow colour.
"Oooh, you're pretty." the
feminine-sounding male said, "Yes, you have
puppy dog eyes."
"Puppies?" the other asked, "Where?"
"Are you hurt?"
"Did we get hurt?" the male voice asked, "I
don't remember, do you, Niax?"
"I only remember him, Ghain. Don't you think he's fabulous?"
"eh, ok." Ovoringo said, "Want
to come?"
"To the puppies?" Ghain
asked.
In the forest, where most darker candidates were searching for a hydra
another three eggs were rocking. The largest of them broke fastest,
revealing a bunch of golden-streaked black fuzzy limbs and feathers. Two
gold-streaked shadow gliders jumped from the rubble. One was male, the
other female.
"Will
you stay with me, Zaquenl?"
the male asked.
At that moment, Shay broke through the
foliage, running from a very disturbing encounter with a woman that seemed
to had both wanted to seduce her, kill her and keep her away. She knew she
was being followed and by the killing female no less... She wasn't very
lucky today. Where was she to find shelter in this forest?
Zaquenl, the female twin, took one look at Shay and knew. She positioned
herself between the young woman and the disturbing entity that was
following her, growling, the feathers on her back rose and she looked very
menacing at Iselyn.
"Be gone!"
she called.
Suddenly Iselyn was gone, but a wisp of shadowy smoke remaining. Turning
to Shay the shadow glider stood on her hind legs, extending her delicately
patterned glider wings and asked, "Will
you be mine?"
"Only a fool would say no, Zaquenl."
Shay said releaved that these two didn't turn out to be a threat.
"But...
But..."
the male shadow glider, Warvol, said, "You
were supposed to be mine."
"I chose."
the female said.
Disappointed and heart-broken, the male half of the twin vanished in the
woods, promising to return one day... from Xidaver.
A 3-headed ash hydra glider was walking across the meadows, he had covered
a lot of ground since he had broken his shell, but still he hadn't found
anyone he had had an interest in. Yawning, the bored hydra glider looked
up one last time and saw a gold-streaked shadow glider staring angry at
him.
"Hello." he said, "Who are you?"
"That's none of
your business."
the shadow said capturing interest, "Who
are you?"
Grinning the hydra glider said, "Why I'm just a hydra."
"Humph."
Warvol answered, "You're
just as bad as she
is. I'm leaving!"
Terah'irr followed the hydra glider and shook his head when he saw the
shadow giving himself up for sponsorship.
"Why didn't I think of that?" he sighed, went in and
said: "A one way ticket to Slythernius."
"Please?" the woman at the desk
said.
"Not a chance I'll say the P-word to you." Terah'irr said
with a flash of teeth.
Rajani, the very unsatisfied
Darkknight apprentice was steaming. The rain didn't bother him one bit,
the lack of hydras was however, very tiring. So far he had only seen bunny
hydras and if that was what he came here for he might just as well have
stayed at Takis Dragonstake. Stumbling toward the lake to try his luck
there, he entered a circular clearing with eggs. He threw himself back to
not disturb the eggs which no doubt contained sugary pink bunnies. But it
was too late, one egg, wobbled, fell and cracked in half.
To Rajani's surprise, a 2-headed hydra appeared. Not very much of interest
he thought at first glance, but then the hydra started talking to itself,
arguing. It's dark red, almost black, hair that covered the hydra from
head to tail tip, was longer on one head than on the other.
"That's because I'm a female."
one of the heads turned and looked angrily at him.
"I still say I want corrective
surgery." the male voice said, "I'm
not living with you!"
"I would have them take your head off." the baby
female called out, "I've got just the tools
to persuade anyone to my bidding!" she shrieked, raking
her claws through the air.
"I've got the same!" the
male said.
The two started an elaborate fight with claws scraping air and their body
twitching and turning. They were more agile than Rajani had thought and
they literally saw everything. Maybe two heads weren't that bad if they
meant having two dragons with the intention of keeping the same body safe.
"What's it to you?" the male
asked, "I can take on any hydra."
"He means I can." the female
said, "I'm Ina."
"I'm Ghinso."
"Rajani." Rajani said,
already forming plans for his homecoming.
Evellyn ran through the rain screaming
and cursing whoever she could think of. The rain had caught her by
surprise and though she liked her dungeons damp, this was overdoing.
"Why do you run?" a voice asked, "It is only rain."
A screen seemed to form above, strangely dark transparent with two bright
orange eyes.
"I'm DarkFire
Luzarion."
the shadow bunny said, "How are you Evellyn?"
With a loud crack another of Girth’s plant runner eggs broke open.
The pale blue hatchling that came outside was a female. Tinged with a
delicate aqua-green, she looked with burning blue eyes into the dusk air.
Without even a look at her mother she called out defiantly: "I
am loneliness, and that is how I shall remain. My haven is
Nidus
Otykaii."
With one last look, Loneliness departed from the sheltered clearing that
held only few eggs. That part of her young life was already over.
Viana walked back from the edge of the
tracks toward the Finish Line. She had wrapped her jacket around her
lion's cub Caleback, but that didn't stop her from being wet. Thinking she
didn't want to risk a cold when the storm would blow over in a few hours,
maybe even less, she was walking as fast as she could without risking a
fall.
Suddenly Calebeck started struggling and leapt from her arms. "Stupid
cub." Viana called after it, "It's
raining!" but that didn't bring the cub back. With a sigh,
Viana started the pursuit.
The chase led her to a circle of trees with a clutch of eggs on the
ground.
"Do you think they mind the rain?"
she asked Calebeck, but it was someone else who answered her question.
"I don't mind it at all. Do you, Lyhenna?"
"Not one bit Layuw." another voice spoke, "But
then, we're not the most docile of hydras."
Viana looked at the other side of the clearing and saw a dark shape with a
wild man and two heads stand there, sniffing the air with a sense of joy.
"We like the lightning."
Lyhenna said, "I feel like running."
"And roaring." Layuw said,
displaying some of her talent by growling loud enough to make Calebeck
jump back into Viana's arms.
Snickering the two-headed wild blood hydra glider approached the female: "But
for now we shall just go with you."
In the forest, where the twin shadow gliders had been born not long ago,
another egg from the same clutch was rocking violently. The egg broke,
revealing two more shadow gliders, these ones black with red streaks
running over their body. Getting up without a fuss the twin gliders sat
down without even saying a word. They looked to different sides of the
forest and waited.
Ebon Shadowifre, being a ghost star
dancer wasn't really being affected by the rain, but the thunder in the
distance made his blood cook with anticipation.
Not far from the star dancer, Devon,
in her devil outfit was busy crawling through the undergrowth, swearing at
the cuts and scratches she received. Cursing more when she was able to
stand up again she walked without looking and bounced right into the star
dancer. They both fell down and suddenly two more shapes were upon them.
"This
one is mine."
Donovan called, grabbing Ebon tightly by the wings.
"And
this one is mine."
Mervyn answered, sitting on Devon's chest.
"We
agree then." Donovan nodded.
"No bloodshed
is needed."
Mervyn replied nodding his head.
"May
it be so in the future."
With that Donovan left the scene, carrying Ebon with him while Mervyn
gently climbed down from Devon's chest, helping her to get up saying: "You
have to be quick. Always,
or they take what is yours."
"Don't I know that."
Ebon Shadowfire finally managed to struggle himself lose and found a more
comfortable perch on the back of the shadow glider who took the air. But
even so, the shadow of the glider touched a hydra glider egg that reacted
instantly to the vicinity of the other. It cracked open, but Donovan was
already gone.
"Where is mine?" the
2-headed smog glider asked herself, "I
cannot sense you here.
Sad, she arched her back and looked at the sky where the stars were
supposed to be. She couldn't see them, but she knew they were there... and
she knew that out there, she might find who was hers. But what place to
start with? Breaking open minds in her vicinity and leaving headaches she
found a name: Xidaver.
Kilmajo walked
slowly through the dunes. The orange plush bunny lived for this kind of
challenge. The rain poured down, lightning messed with his mind and he
could smell almost nothing but ozon. Carefully feeling the wind with
his whiskers he tried to get a look of the dunes. Just around the corner
there was a slight imperfection in the pattern and Kilmajo knew it was an
egg. The bunny started to run and turned a corner just in time to see two
brown-tipped ears pierce out of the egg. Within seconds the entire bunny
dragon in the colours a beige and brown was standing among the dunes.
"Hello." Kilmajo said, not
knowing if the bunny would run or stay.
"I will stay,
Kili." Said
the baby male, "My
name is Flan."
Iselyn, sulking because of her earlier
encounter with the shadow glider female was busy paining her good self by
replaying some good old memories. If she knew her good half she would feel
forever soiled to know what had happened to the men and women she had
murdered... well not exactly she, but knowing the good side, she would
feel guilty.
Laughing a bit, the bad Iselyn felt her good side cringe in the back of
her mind. She left the forest and felt the rain pour back down on her.
Turning her face up Iselyn felt bad and loved it. She stepped of the road
and wondered what would happen if she let her good side take over in the
middle of the lake. Would she try to kill herself?
"I think she might resist you long
enough." a voice told her.
"No way, this one is much stronger."
the second replied.
"Who are you?" Iselyn asked
the intruders.
"Look to your right." the
first voice said, sounding feminine, "I am
Ta'veren."
"And I'm Manetheren." the male said bowing his head
slightly.
"Let's try it out." Iselyn
said with an evil grin.
"We can always hold you down and see if
she'd swim back up to save her life." Manetheren suggested
innocently.
"Why not just poke her?"
Ta'veren asked.
"Not subtle enough." Iselyn
said, we'll try the other one.
"Aww!"
"We'll do your idea next time."
2 eggs cracked in Girth's cherubun clutch revealing a small
yellow female and oddly, a black male. No candidates were around, but the
two cherubuns wouldn't have noticedd any. Their eyes met when they crawled
from the egg and didn't part.
"Bloesem." the black
whispered.
"Yes, Immernacht, mine?" she
asked.
"Will we elope?"
"I hear
Dragon
Tears is wonderful around this time of
year." the yellow said, blushing a bit, highlighting her
cheeks a glossy pink.
"I'd follow you to the end of the world. We
will set out tonight."
A strong wind blew the clouds further inland, the rain stopped eventually
and the clouds drifted apart. A single ray of sun touched a hidden egg in
the dark forest, touching it and as it moved, shifted by the clouds, the
light left a scar in the egg, almost as if it burned the shell. Finally
the lightning-shaped scar was big enough and the bunny within broke
free.
Four heads turned to the sun and sighed. Two of them sighed because they
saw what they adored, the two other heads sighed sad because they only saw
the origins of their beloved. Silently the four heads, one black, one
silver, one gold and one white, set out and followed the sun, not swaying
their gaze from it's path. Further and further they ventured through the
forest until they reached the finish.
"Where are you going?" a
recordkeeper asked them.
"With a strange look the black male, Abond, answered: "We
have bonded."
"Are you staying here then?"
the man asked.
With an irritated look the silver female, Ma'ahn said:
"No."
"But where are you going?"
"Ask her, she knows." the
gold male, Zonne, said pointing to the last head.
"Darkling Dawn." the
white female head, Shi'jin, said, closed her eyes and hummed:
"For where the
light goes we shall be. Never sleeping, never halting. Only the Light can set us
free."
