| Appearance | Maira is of medium height and slender, with neck-long light brown hair and grey eyes. You
would not say it from the look of her, but she has a voice that can be
loud enough to order even the laziest new dragonrider into doing what
she desires. She tends to also use this voice on people of power to

| Personality | Maira is strong-willed and
decisive. She is always ready when she needs to be, knowing exactly
what needs to be done. She is a very practical woman who knows her own
limits. She has a no nonsense attitude and is always busy with something, moving with a determined look in her eyes to get to her goal. She also has a stare that can make you feel 3 inch tall and naked when you get in her way - it is not something I recommend anyone try to get. Maira has but one weakness and that is her addiction to coffee. |

(38), though she prefers to keep her personal life separated from her
work. Her husband is a brown-rider with an easy temper and an adoring
look when he looks at his wife. So far the couple has one child, a
daughter they named Serrahn (13). Maira has a couple of good friends among the "older" dragonriders on the Island. She has a good relationship with Analina. |

| Short Bio | Maira was born in a Southern Weyr on Pern and from a very young age spent her days around the firelizard beaches. Her parents were somewhat concerned that she didn't seem to impress any of them - after all they had hoped their daughter would one day stand on the sands. Almost come to terms that Maira would not impress, her father Z'in, a bluerider just gave up adding his daughter to the candidates list. But Maira kept on showing up, knowing she just needed to wait for the right dragon. She had very peculiar ideas for a Pernese girl about impressing dragons, a thing that would later spur her away from her home to more unusual adoption sites in the nexus. Finally, at her 15th try, a dragon hatched that was perfect for her, as she had always known that everyone could impress. Not one dragon or flit before had dared tell her otherwise, but this little green just was absolutely sure that Maira was hers. Maira left Pern when Dresynith was barely old enough to fly and after a year or two found her way to Syldan and from there to Lantessama. | |
