Lantessama Isle - Information

Nekrats are sea dragons. They come in a variety of colours that range from blue over green to brown, inspired by natural colours. All colours can be either gender and cross-gender bonding is not unusual. Though these dragons share a mental link with their bond, the link can be muted if it should be wished for.
All dragons have a long, streamlined body with 3 sets of pectoral fins and 4 tailfins. Distinguishing features are their catfish-like whiskers and finned ears. The smallest nekrats are dolphin-sized (5-8m), but they can grow to be whale-sized (12-16m, up to 30m for the really exceptionally large ones). Most nekrats will grow to be able to carry their rider on their back.
All nekrats have the same ranking. Their colours stem from their personality and that is what will determine who they bond with. On occasion mutations or magic influence can cause patterns, glow/light effects or even a whole new colour to emerge. These changes will be rare but might be increased depending on the colouring of the parent dragons.

Information on the old Lantessama Colours can be found here.

COLOURS & TRAITS

Storm Storms are the leaders, loners and daredevils among the nekrats, they are fast and agile and usually only surface in the midst of thunderstorms, leaping from the waves and lighting the sky with their lightning-patterned fins.
Abyss The Abyss are timid, quiet and gentle nekrats, acting as if they have been used to humans for centuries. They are very wise and pursue the more humanitarian goals than the other nekrats.
Abysses have a deep black-blue shimmered hide that colours well in the deep blue ocean where they like to live in their own little homes between the cliffs.
Deep Sea Deep Sea Nekrats are adventurous. They love nothing better than to go out and relocate, always looking for new things to get their attention. It's not uncommon for them to move every week, or rotate several different dwellings around the vast ocean of Syl'Neriss.
Wave Waves are gentle, playful and clear nekrats. They lack every ounce of mystery, but that only adds to their charm. They can be naive at times, but not on purpose. These nekrats are just innocent by nature, always looking at things positive and trusting the world.
Gletsjer Gletsjer Nekrats can be thought of as cold. They think logically and oftentimes leave their feelings out of decisions. They do have a tendency to push themselves further, even to extremes. Daredevils.
Lake Elegant nekrats who like to contemplate. They are usually easygoing and relaxed but can be spurned into action by things they care greatly about. Lake dragons care for their community and family, usually not open to think of the greater good.
Pool Quiet and complex dragons, it's sometimes hard to figure out what a Pool Nekrat is thinking. They aren't the most social of dragons and will in stead prefer to keep to a small group of trustees.
Foam Foam Nekrats are a happy sort. They love to live and can get enthusiastic about anything, which makes them very charming but sometimes tiring to be around. Don't expect much peace and quiet, but they will entertain you with their stories.
Seaweed Seaweeds are gentle, playful and secretive nekrats who enjoy laughing and playing pranks. They are very loyal and not nearly as naive as the waves. They do like the company of their trusting wave-friends though, because, be real, who can resist such a temptation? But it is all in good fun and no-one really gets hurt by these charming little devils.
Swamp A bit wild, a bit lazy, and very much carefree nekrats. Swamp Nekrats enjoy forging their own path. They're pretty stubborn and won't just do as people ask. If pressured they might decide to just relax in the sun and refuse to move.
Pond Pond Nekrats are quiet and observant dragons. They seem to know a lot of the gossip that's going around and will bring you up to speed if you ask for information. But when asked to keep something secret, they will comply.
Sand Sands are fun-loving and kind, they are the most relaxed nekrats so far, enjoying to sun on the sand and go for short swims in the vicinity of heir homes, which are almost always situated in shallow waters or sandy caves. Humans that want to bond these must be able to live with dragons who like to dally a lot ;)
Puddle As you might expect, Puddle Nekrats can be murky. They like to hide their true intentions and love to keep secrets. Expect to be surprised a lot and to be tugged to and fro on their whim (and not yours).
Coral Corals are extremely shy, friendly nekrats who love to hide inside coral reefs and thus usually don't grow as big as the other nekrats. They are not often seen, but the few people who have actually seen them don't always agree on their appearance. It seems that these dragons are masters of disguise. They have bright rainbow camouflage colours to hide out on bright, lively pages.
Pebble Polished and sometimes stuck-up, these nekrats care for decorum and manners. They will follow rules to the t and always know how to conduct themselves in social situations (from casual parties to meeting royalty). They can get insecure without proper instructions.
Rock Rocks are territorial and defensive nekrats. They have a killer mood and woe the poor human to cross them when they are just waking up. They are a steady kind of water creature, liking more to guard their little part of the ocean than to swim out to discover new ground.
Fountain Fountain Nekrats love to look good. They like to be the center of attention and enjoy giving performances. As such, they're usually lighter and brighter in colour than other nekrats (except for the Corals).
Well Wells are proud and open nekrats. They try to keep to the middle and do the right things. When things get a bit harder they tend to philosophise, but basically these are the nekrats that do what they have to do and know what they are doing it for. No need for sweet talk, just lay things out simple and straight for them.
