MIND PAIRING 1
Kam and Thae were conversing, talking about the benefits of personal hygiene and cleanliness for both humans and draks and which routines would prove to be the most beneficial to spread out. Was it good to cut drak hair or was it better to leave it to grow? The discussion turned heated as different views were examined. Neither had a fixed position which made for an animated conversation.
But the talking was suddenly interrupted by a knock and an announcement:
"It'sss time."
Day Yoretei had waited long enough, she'd given her draklings the knowledge and skills they would need to grow up as well as her own thoughts on the matters the two humans were discussing.

The gathered aspirants were brought down and the deep cavern was filled with the few humans and a multitude of draks that operated the Northern Castle.
Morphe, a scout from the vicinity of Acicade Castle looked a bit uncomfortable without a proper disguise for once. Jodelaar, a drak that had not paired at the previous hatching, was looking keenly at the doors, hoping to find a mate at this event. More than a few draks shared the look. Most of the humans present had paired and weren't expecting except a show and some food.

Yoretei kicked open the doors, the Day drak looking fabulous because she'd had her knight help groom her and her three draklings right after her announcement earlier that day. it might not be tradition, but she wanted to look good. She wanted her children to look good. Parkoq had refused her offer for the same treatment quite caustically. But he was his own entity and if he looked shabby compared to them, then that was his choice.
"Welcome friendz!" Yoretei called.
The present people and draks looked her way. Happy with the attention, Yoretei basked in it shortly and then returned the attention to her children:
"I will sshowcaze each of my draklingss before they make their choize."
"First up is my daughter Yelloqei."
A silvery grey Rain drakling came forward first, then a day drak was announced. Both paired and then Geioq was the only one left.
Yoretei called her last drakling to the front and introduced him:
"This is my second son, Geioq. He is a smart drakling but a bit prone to speaking out without thinking. He means no harm."
Some people in the crowd snickered, knowing this was a thing commonly observed in Desert draks.
Geioq did not take it to mind. He had made his decision long before this day and stated it now:
"I want to wait a bit before I pair and ssee more of Icarusz."
"I'll gladly educate you and take you to Ssavannah." Parkoq, his sire replied before Yoretei could claim the right. Her introduction of him had not been very positive and the drakling risked stern training if he were to remain with her.
