Darkness Koms
Darkness koms fluttered around the night
of Gineya Isle. Every other star dancer was either singing or dancing in the
light of this full blue moon. But Koms couldn't be happy at a time like this.
She felt Darkness. As her name suggested she had a knack of feeling pain and
anguish. She would most likely predict the end of the world... of course she
predicted it every other week or so.
But this time Koms knew she was right. Something bad had happened and she was
the one who needed to solve it. But she was only one little Star Dancer. And not
too big at that. She was however a night which made her one of the more
intelligent Star Dancers...but still with only the power to predict vague occurrences
wasn't enough to help. That was why she was flying around in circles in stead of
celebrating a second full moon in the month. She thought and pondered and went
over the problem of her feeling time and time again. She could not find an
answer. She could wait for a human to take her and get her to wherever her
feeling led her. She had heard that had happened before. But no-one wanted her.
She was rather unhealthy looking with her pale skin. Her skin was even more so
accentuated by her dark purple dress and her black hair. Only her wings Koms
knew were pretty about her. Light and purple with the shape of a dragonfly ancestor.
Suddenly, with all her thinking and flying not quite looking at the sky in front
of her, she bumped into something. Something hard.
"Great! A tree" she thought.
"I am not a tree."
"You can hear me? Who are you?"
"I am Sssssliiver."
The clouds moved and uncovered the moon. Koms could see a slender scaled green
and black body wrapped around a tree. A Svarpian? But how did it get here from
all the way on the other side of the Isle?
"I came."
"Stop with the mindreading!" Koms shouted.
"Oh, but I can't! I'm just sensitive to calls like yours. I don't know why.
Mutation, I guess." With that the Svarpian attempted to smile, in stead he
only showed his large white fangs. Koms shuddered.
"Why are you here?" she asked with growing unconfidence.
"I am here because you needed me. Slssssh, You even got me here!"
Recognising the Svarpianese curse word, Koms reared back. She put a more safe
distance between her and the snake like animale, at leats she hoped it was safe,
how far could Svarpians jump? Only then did she get the meaning of the second
sentence.
"I did not bring you here!"
"Oh, then how do you explain me once being on a nice swamp tree, right
above an unsuspecting swamp rabbit, a nice juicy one I might add, and the next
being here! Wrapped around a tree and NO bunny." Sliver said, "I can
still grab you you know." a wink.
Koms went back even further. "But I can't do that! I can see horrible
events happen."
"Maybe you need to get to one? A rather important one?"
How did that animal know what she had been thinking? How was it able to talk to
her? Svarpians were supposed to be stupid! Deadly but stupid.
Suddenly the Svarpian launched at her and cried: "Be gone! Go see your Lost
One!"
The next moment Darkness Koms wasn't on Gineya anymore. She hadn't seen all of
Gineya, but she knew she wasn't there anymore. The feel of the place was
different.
She looked around and saw a gray dragon -she knew what dragons were, though this
one did not look remotely like a Wicena or an Atcydia.
"Have you come for me?"
Koms fell silent in thought and word as she heard the same feeling out loud. It
hadn't been a feeling at all, it had been a voice. Crying our for her.
"Yes, I suppose." she said.
"Good."
Far far away, on the planet Gineya, a
Svarpian lay in the tree.
"Oh good! She didn't even bring me back! Oh well, I'll have to get myself
back then."
The Svarpian slithered down and started changing. It grew and suddenly it became
a man. A tall dark man with red gleaming eyes. "It would have been nice to
be brought back."
He shimmered out of the River Area, back to the Swamp where he had something
tastier than bunny laying around for him...
