Thio walked toward the beach where the egg were supposedly hatching. His own water dragon, Baja, was guarding the eggs from possible dangers in the sea. It was her/him that had alerted him and thio did not doubt the message. Four candidates had been found for four eggs, that was how it had always worked before. It was as if the dragons knew when they were allowed to hatch. The mechanics were something Iyru and Knux would have to work out, it did not matter to Thio.
Putting on a pair of sunglasses, he took the last turn, his orange blouse shining brightly against the green of the foliage. To his own amazement he saw the four candidates present. Olie he had expected to be near the eggs, the young boy always was, as if he couldn't wait for the eggs to hatch, though Thio had heard from Baja that the boy had told his egg it needed to hatch soon so he could protect his sister. It was strange to hear such serious words from such a young boy.
The other three, Ennio, Fearchar - a name he did not even pretend to be able to pronounce, he just called the young farmer with the adorable accent Charry - and Hazel had been alerted as well, most likely by Baja as well.
Making a grand entrance, Thio said: "Let the beach fun begin!"
The first egg cracked in half only seconds later, making Thio comment himself on his impeccable timing. The small light blue male bay dragon swam toward the shore, singling out one candidate.
"Ennio!" the dragon called, "You are mine, all mine."
"I know, Mrazr." Ennio said, twisting his tongue to pronounce the name correctly.
"We'll have so much fun. I don't think you did a wrong thing, you should not beat yourself up because of it. I can teach you to lighten up." smiling, the bay dragon swam backwards with his body out of the water, almost like a dolphin.
But when he started returning to his bond to get some fish to eat, he was nearly thrown off balance by the hatching of another egg. This egg revealed a bay that was more aqua than blue, also a male. When Mrazr had recovered, the new bay swam toward the shore in a less noticeable fashion, sticking out his nose toward Olie.
"I know you want to protect your sister. I couldn't tell you this before, but I want that too, and I will not let her get hurt. You can count on me to help."
"Thanks Aidahk." the young boy answered, "I brought fish for you."
"I trust you knew which one to get for me?"
"I did." the boy smiled, "i knew it when i saw them!"
Making a fast flip out of the water and back in, the young aqua bay snatched the fish with expert aim. Smacking as he ate it, "Mmm."
The two last eggs of the small bay clutch hatched at once, revealing a female foggy blue-grey and a dark blue male. The two sped to the shore and the two candidates that remained looked intently at the two. Finally the dark blue headed for Fearchar and the female toward Hazel.
"Fearchar!" the male said, "You're mine."
"Hazel! Hazel! Hazel!" the female called, "I have images for you!"
"The woman smiled, while Fearchar headed into the water to pet his new bond, "I would love to see your images, Feen love." Hazel answered.
"Am I good for your plan?" the male asked.
"You're perfect, Broilik." the farmer asked, "I couldn't have wished for anything else."
The four pairs were then playfully pushed into the water by the older riders (if they hadn't stepped in already) for a celebrating swim as all the bonded Bays rushed in to welcome the new members of the family.
