HATCHING
Rhany walked around the Red Rock Territories. She'd been
given a vacation by the headmistress for her help with the students. Rhany
knew this for what is was. She was no innocent youngling hypnotised by
Amasia's presence. But she also wasn't stupid enough to say no. There was
little that could happen at Remyndal and with storn season coming, there
were fewer students out at sea. They were mostly indoors, learning about
nots, star charts and sextant handling. So Rhany welcomed the break from
having to give those stuffy lessons.
The area around Ryslen was mountainous but there was also a big lake where
she'd been sailing. Today though, she'd chosen to go walking. Her feet
kept her in the vicinity of the lake though and she mostly circled aorund
it.
When she returned to Ryslen, she was swept away by a crowd of people.
Rhany gave in to the tide, there was little use fighting the current
anyway. She smiled as she quoted her own lessons at herself but that smile
turned into a gasp when she saw why the people were so impatient.
She hadn't known there was a clutch at Ryslen. But surely Amasia had
known. Rhany couldn't be bothered to curse at the headmistress' scheling.
And it was not like she would go along with it. Rhany took a seat well
away from the sandy center where young people were attempting to charm the
dragon hatchlings. All of them seemed to be quite sepcial in colour, not
what she knew from the dragons around Remyndal. All were half white and
half another colour and spotted. Rhany noticed people around her talking
about how the colours resembled food and her stomach grumbled.
Down in the cavern, a little dragoness picked up on the sound and as she
looke dup, their eyes met.
"I'm Amaeteth." the dragoness
announced, feeling equally hungry.
"I'll come down to look for food." Rhany relented.
Was it a coincidence that her dragon's name even sounded a lot like the
headmistress"? Rhany surmised that she might believe in Fate after all.
"Hardly." Amaeteth replied,
"There are only 26 letters in the human alphabet.
It's only logical that I might share some with someone you know. I'm
definitely my own entity."
"That's a relief." Rhany replied.

ADULTS
Amaeteth flew over Rhany's little skiff as she sailed near
Turin's shores and harbour. The dragoness was not impatient, just curious.
Her bond was teaching a student and all was going well. But that was not
very realistic. With a flick of her wing, Amaetath created some turbulence
and the skiff wobbled dangerously in the surf.
"I should tamper with your actions sometime."
Rhany sent Amaeteth a little admonishment but it was nothing to worry
about. Rhany taught her students well and the boy handled the skiff
wonderful, keeping it upright and the people inside dry.
"I wouldn't mind." Amaeteth sent back,
"In fact, there's only one setting where your
opinion would impact on my actions. And I wouldn't be opposed to try it
out."
