The last egg exploded, throwing up sand that obscured the sight for a few moments until it setteled down again. From behind the curtain of sand, the silhouette of a small female dragoness became visible. The hatchling was almost completely black, with just a tad of silver woven into her wings. Even though she was dark, her hide shone with countless little flecks of light, as if she was mimicking the night sky. Yet she did not have the air of a midnight, she seemed much more fragile, almost too fragile to be here.
the hatchling coughed with a high voice. The spectators arched closer, trying to decide what they were seeing. Waiting for the hatchling to speak again. There were no candidates left on the sands. Bets were being made if the hatchling would remain on Lantessama or if she would disappear just as she seemed to be fated to.
"My name is Avarya." the hatchling suddenly said, "I'd like to stay for a while."
Muted curses rose from the audience, alongside soft cheers depending on whether the person belonged to the winning or losing side of the bets made. When still no-one moved, Naderenya, beckoned for her daughter to come closer, "I shall take care of you, Avarya. Oh, do you have a name for your colour?"
"Star sky, maybe?" Klierth suggested.
Avarya blinked and shook her head, "My colour is lingering hope."
Taylor smirked, "Figured she'd take on the naming classes of her mother who was also born here, but good try."
Klierth tried to redeem his figure, "Well I'm her parent too, and anyways, the name suits her, she certainly is as pretty as her mother."
"Whatever you say."

Avarya grew up to be a very pretty dragoness. There were many candidates that wanted to bond with her, but she refused all of them. Saying her bond lived far from this world, but that  she would find her someday.
"honey.. I love it that you are staying here with me, but is it really smart to turn down every single candidate?" Her father asked one time.
"of course daddy. I already know who it'll be. She needs me. You should know how it is to bond."
"Sure he does Avarya. You can stay as long as you want, of course"
Her mother said as she looked at the male dragon.
Her father sighed. Not knowing how to handle both females.

"I would like to thank you all. But it is time for me to leave Lantessama and go to Wilgen Castle."
Both mother and father dragon looked at there now adult daughter that stood before them.
"so soon?" her father asked
"Good luck love." Her mother said gently, nuzzling her daughter.

At the same time on Icarus:
"Lynn.. I'm sorry that it didn't go well for you this time."
"It's ok. One day, I'll have a drak of my own and then... I'll be here next time again Christian."
Lynn looked at the high knight of Wilgen Castle. She had lived her whole life here on Icarus, and she had always dreamed of being a knight. But now she had been in about 5 hatchings, and every time, not one drak picked her. Every time, she entered a hatching, every time it failed.
Lynn always hoped for a drak, and she just knew that some day, she would be a good knight. Her drak would be one of the prettiest draks around, and she would be very happy, just living with her drak.
But that dream always shattered into little pieces every time a hatching had occured. The high knights both were supporting her, and she could live in the castle for the time.

Sighing, Lynn walked back to her room. She loved this castle, its owners, its surrounding.. But she couldn't spend the rest of her life trying... Although this was her childhood dream, she knew that one day, she had to move on, but it wouldn't be next time.
She fell on her bed and sighed again. Looking outside, wondering what tomorrow would bring, falling asleep.

Lynn woke up that night of a soft sound. She saw the night sky, but something was wrong about it. She got up and rearanged her clothing. Then walked to the window and looked outside.
"hello!" She heared it, was the night sky talking now. Lynn thought she was going crazy.
"my daddy also thought I was a night sky, but I'm a Lingering Hope. My name is Avarya." Now Lynn saw a hovering eye right outside her window.
"Wait, I'm coming outside." Lynn ran out of her room and down the stairs. Catching her breath, she stood still on the main enterance of the castle. She looked around, wondering if everything had been real.
Ever since she had been a little girl and her parents had taken her here, she had loved the castle at night, the main entrance was lit by tourches, outside the dark forest covered every bit of land, the towers reaching high above her. Wondering what she still was doing here in the cold night air, she turned round and walked back to her room. But she walked against something warm and fell to the ground.
"watch out. I thought you would have seen me." A soft voice said inside her mind.
"Where are you?" Lynn asked softly, wondering what was talking to her.
"here. Look closely."
Lynn did as she was told, and saw the night sky move. her jaw dropped as she still was sitting on the cold ground.
"you should get up Lynn, you'll get a cold."
"Yes.. of course.. Wait, how did you know my name?"
"because you are my bond Lynn. No drak picked you because I already had you as a bond."
"But you don't look like a drak of Icarus..."
"That's because I'm a dragon, not a drak. I came from Lantessama."
"Is that a castle?"
"no silly. It's not, but I know I'm hungry. Will you feed me?"
"Of course Avarya. Come with me."
Lynn couldn't help but walk proudly.

The next morning, Lynn got a good look at her dragon. She was completly differernt from a normal Drak, but that made her special. It also seemed that Lynn was the only one to really understand her dragon. All draks talked to every human around, but Avarya told her that she had to talk through ones mind or drak.
Christian and Lana were both trilled that she had finally bonded and were glad to add her in the armada's.
