HATCHING
The waves collided gently with the sand, making beautiful art on the beach
under a bright blue sky with not a wisp of cloud in sight. A soft breeze
blew land inward and touched the eggs that had been laid last Easter. This
year there had been no need for bunnies to hide the eggs, not with the ten
mothers and several helpers to carry on the tradition. Knowing the time
was near the females had set out with their eggs, some hiding them and
leaving the eggs for candidates to find, and others remaining with their
eggs.
At the last count the number of eggs had been hesitantly set to 80, but
no-one knew if that number was anywhere near correct. Still, things always
worked out on Lantessama and no-one had a doubt that today as well
everyone would find a dragon to bond with, with some to spare to sponsor
out to other planets.
Lucas was taking care of the last arrangements when a whole cluster of
small dragons gathered around him. As with the flight, the mini cocktail
dragons were to be used as the eyes and ears of the record keepers and as
guards for the few candidates who ran into a clutch of hatching hydra,
disturbing the mother. Hopefully there wouldn't be too much of that. This
time Lucas' own Vodka Zast was in charge of the fair of miniature dragons
and would remain high in the air to coordinate. Eris, Trix' ice would stay
behind to relay information to her bond about the impressions and Cyan's
Raspberry Purple would stay on Evilness' tail to make sure he wouldn't do
anything to disturb the eggs. The little dragon took his job very serously,
fastening himself to Evilness' tail and not letting go. Cyan had kept her
eyes on him for the past months, but was still certain he was up to
something even if he didn't show a sign of bad behaviour.
"Are the candidates
ready?" Lucas asked
Cyan.
"Trix is making sure
all of them get the concept, though what is so hard about an egg hunt, I
don't know." Cyan
shrugged, "Whatever
gets her secure, I can't stand her when she's nervous."
"Strung thight?"
Lucas asked.
"Break a twig in her
vicinity and she would explode."
Cyan giggled.
Finally all the candidates were let loose on the same track where the run
had taken place. The females had scattered their eggs all around, many of
the untended ones being bunnies who could imagine no other way of being
born except to be found.
A shadow bunny rose from it's egg and blended in perfectly with the rest
of the world on Isla Klynn. All grey the bunny still had patches of
lighter and darker fur, in the darkest fur some very tiny dots of light
became visible, making him look as if he was mimicking the night sky.
Sitting peacefully the shadow bunny just watched as night progressed and
nodded. Yes, Lantessama seemed like a
perfect place to be. Tweeduister would stay.
ACQUIRING FRIENDS TO HELP
Tweeduister had been living comfortably on Lamntessama for the past years.
His presence had become known swiftly. The dragons had sensed his presence
after all. But luckily no-one had objected to his staying. After all, he
was a bunny and those could always be trusted. Though Sneaky, Tweeduister
was much to lazy to actually cause any trouble so he had been regarded as
less of a threat than Evilness. Though a bit hurt in his pride, the shadow
bunny had let the comparison to the sad excuse of a villain slide.
After he'd matured a bit, Tweeduister had been given tasks. The Laedryses,
especially Donriven since he specialised in Shadow beings, had observed
him and had overseen his education and training. But basically,
Tweeduister had been perfectly able since hatching. He required neither
sustenance nor rest, was always observant and ready to act. Donriven had
concluded that Tweeduister was in fact the perfect spy and guard system.
So Tweeduister listened. And listened.... and got bored.
Nothing really happened on Lantessama. It was peaceful. A normal shadow
dragon would be driven stir crazy. But not Tweeduister. This shadow bunny
hatched a plan! He would get some friends to help and then he could let
them do the work for him! It was a brilliant plan.
Some time later - time is relative when you're an immortal shadow but it
was over 20 years - Tweeduister received word of a gathering of spooky
beings. Surely he'd find someone compatible and moldable there. The shadow
bunny disappeared in a puff of smoke and re-appeared right in a flock of
Terrible Terrors. The Berkian dragons were small but very agile, energetic
and curious.
"Perfect!" Tweeduister said.
The flock of small Stoker Dragons whirled, chittered and sang until
finally a few decided that the shadowy presence among them wasn't a bad
person. They gathered closer and chirped inquisitively.
"Want to come with me?" Tweeduister asked, showing mental pictures of
Lantessama and all it's perks.
Three finally decided that the offer was lucrative enough to agree. A
greyish-green, a bright glowy yellow-orange and a deep dark blue one let
Tweeduister envelop them to make the journey to their new home. Little did
Tweeduister know that the name given to these little dragons had nothing
to do with their prowess and all with the nuissance of living with them...

STATS
Species: Terrible Terror (Autumn Terror) (Stoker Dragon)
Place of Origin: Nexus Autumn Gather 2024, Art by
Nomi
Description: Comparable to a cat, small dog or large hunting bird in
size, the Terrible Terror is small enough to sit comfortably on an
outstretched arm, sprawl across the shoulders, or perch atop a person’s
head without discomfort. In form, the Terrible Terror has a low-slung,
lizard-like build, with limbs that angle out, away from the body, rather
than sitting straight to the body. Their wingspan is large and rounded in
shape, broader at the further edges than it is where close to the body.
Each wing has seven fingers, the forefeet have four toes and the hind feet
have three. The body has a pebbled type scaling. They have backward
pointed, ridged horns and spikes which run the length of the spine, as
well as a singular spike on the muzzle.
*Size: ~ 1' at the shoulder, 5' length
*Proportions: Length = Height x 5
*Diet: Carnivore (Scavenger/Opportunist)
*Lifespan: 80-90 years
Personality: Characterised by intense curiosity and a generally
pleasant but mischievous nature, they can be as much of a pest as they are
a valuable friend. FogBog is definitely the most sedate of the trio, while
FireGlow is the most intense and pushy. FaeNight is usually the one stuck
in the middle, much to his dismay.
Behaviour and Intelligence: While Terrible Terrors are definitely
sapient, they're not exactly the smartest of the Berkian Dragons either.
They're capable of making themselves understood through general body
language and such, and of learning the meaning a decent number of human
words, but they can’t understand the whole of it like some of the others
can. They tend to be rather instinctive and impulsive, with a poor grasp
of cause and effect if the effect is not immediate. When groups of Terrors
gather together in large numbers, they will begin to ‘sing’, a mix of
various calls which usually make a mostly harmonious whole.
Terrors don’t bond in the traditional sense, but to those who are their
friends, they are extremely loyal. It takes a lot of drive off a Terror
once it’s decided you’re it’s person. Partnering with a Terrible Terror
does not inhibit a person’s ability to bond to other dragons.
Abilities:
*Flight
*Breath Weapon: Jet of Flame (Propane)
*Fireproof Hide
*Draconic Speech
*Endurance
*Venomous
*Strong Bite
