STATS
Name: Owyn
Age: 89
Gender: Male
Race: Half Goblin Half Elf
Class: Green Mage, Forester, Tamer Description:
Owyn is part elf, part goblin and that's not a blessed combination. His
skintone is pale, growing faintly grey when under the weather. He has
bright yellow eyes that glow in the dark, pointed ears that stand wider
from his face than the average for elves but less than average for
goblins. He has a narrow nose and large mouth for his thin face. His build
is thin and frail and he ages more than an elf would but will have their
extended lifespan.
Personality: Owyn is a vat of contradictions. He wants to be among
others but is painfully shy. As such he leads a hermit life with stalker
tendencies. People do come to visit to buy animals, pelts and spells from
him but they have a hard time leaving since Owyn is clingy. He is
definitely not stupid, but his goblin genes give him a simple look on life
where he is more cunning than smart and inclined to rush into things
before thinking them through. He has the magic to get him out of bad
situations though and strange but true, animals adore him.
Skills: Night Vision, Animal affinity, Green Magic

CALLING
The call had disturbed Owyn all morning. A creature cried out in hunger
though that shouldn't really be possible. The forest was healthy and
abundant in all types of food animals might need, from grass, roots and
vegetables to prey and carrion. In the afternoon, Owyn's restraint snapped
and he went out to look for whatever was making the noise. It could be a
trap. Maybe some hunters were luring in animals by tricking them into believing
an animal was close to starving and would be easy pickings. But that would
be a roundabout way to hunt. The elves would feel that tactic to be
beneath them, it was too much planning for the goblins. Maybe some human
would get satisfaction out of such a ruse.
But when Owyn reached the place where the call came from he found neither
a trap nor a known species of animal. Instead a fluffy black ball of
feathers was perched below the bushes, shying away from the sun. As it
moved, hints of gold, green and blue appeared to sometimes shine through
the darkest of black.
"What is your name?" Owyn asked, noticing this was no mere
animal.
The ball of feathers stared at him warily but then a beak materialised out
of the mass and that hunger cry sounded again. Only this time, it was
followed by a vision of sound. Neither words nor images, Owyn still
understood.
"Paznow." Owyn repeated and a bond snapped into place.
The shadowy presence invaded his mind and though the presence was neither
cold nor warm, it was definitely soft and smooth.
"I am Paznow. Son of Uzscem. Grandson to
Ersatz. Brilliant shadowling of destruction.
I shall rest here to heal."
Owyn shrugged and replied: "Of course. Do you require anything to
heal?"
Paznow blinked: "Sustenance.
Lifeforce to devour."
Owyn nodded and went to hunt. He'd not turned away any creature that came
to him for help and he would not start now. Although maybe Paznow would
need to spread out his hunting after he recovered since Owyn had a
sneaking suspicion that the feathery shadowling would need a lot of
sustenance.

FLIGHT
Paznow returned to Owyn as his bond required of him. the two left each
other pretty free to do what they wanted but the matter binding them asked
to be acknowledged at certain interval. Owyn would not consciously divulge
it, but he was in fact quite happy to have his bond visit. Paznow was a
stuck-up, demanding prick(ly) being but he had listened when Owyn had
asked him to spread out his feeding so Owyn's forest would not die. And
for that Owyn loved his companion.
"And yet you
don't join me."
Paznow replied as he caught the last of Owyn's thoughts.
"I don't think I can leave the forest unattended."
"Why not? Someone will take your place until
you return. It is how these
guardianships work."
Paznow had a point. But Owyn did not want to abandon his duty.
"Request a leave of absence then. If you
need a reason, state that i wish to spread my
genes and I shall need to
be away for a while and
can not be so long without you."
Owyn cocked his head and wondered if the ruse might in fact be truth as
Paznow had never asked anything of him.
"I shall see if it is allowed." Owyn promised.
