STATS
Name: Wiera
Age: 27
Gender: Female
Species: Mermaid
Class: commoner

Description: Wiera has a dark greyish skin, rust-coloured hair and brown eyes. She is quite voluptuous but since that is a common thing with the mermaids she doesn't stand out much. From the waist down, her human upper body connects to a soft to the touch but strong and smooth tail, similar to that of a dolphin. The fins at her tail and ears are slightly lighter in colour than the rest of her body.
Personality: Wiera is a social, fun-loving mermaid who just can't say no to shiny things. She often looks for treasures in sunken ships or observes humans on the beach. She isn't intent on making trouble, but she often loses sights of safety and common sense while she gets excited which lands her into trouble a lot.
Short Bio: Wiera was born to a common mer couple, her mother died while she was young and she was raised by her father and aunts. Her inquiring mind was evident from a young age but never put to much use which meant that she started seeking her own way and with no-one to guide her this made her alienate her family a bit because they are trying to hold her back for her own good.
Skills: Quick thinker.
Hobbies: exploring shipwrecks, looking for shiny objects.
Bond: Wheke-Octodragon
Tecad-Anyaythlis'Refugium (f) from the Refugium

HATCHING
The announcement that the Mermay Mini Frenzy was hatching came during one of the many events the Refugium had organised to entertain the waiting candidates and sponsors. About half the spectators and several members on either side of the hydroball court scrambled to get to where they needed to be, leaving the rest of the people to either follow to watch the big event or go home.
The hatching grounds were abuzz with more activity than usual. Only a few clutch parents were visible above the surf; the glenn dragon mother carefully guarding her nest of eggs, wreathed in seaweed and sat between the crags of a rocky outcrop. The asandus mother and her fiery mate, chasing around their clumsy-footed liveborn offspring as they nagged Zeskod for extra treats from the feeding tables. The other parents appeared as silhouettes or bobbing heads just above the surface of the water.
Though the parents were different species and had laid eggs at different times, somehow the hatchlings inside knew that the time was there to hatch or be left behind. One after the other the eggs started rocking as the race to find the optimal bond or sponsor began.
A leopard-spotted blue wheke-ika watched her intended from behind a patch of fronds. It had taken her some time to decide upon a proper bond and she didn't want to be influenced by the utterings of her siblings. She examined and analyzed all the waterborn candidates that swam passed her little hidey hole.
The most intriguing clues were some comments made from a merman and his recently bonded barroti-asandus.
An adventurous mermaid who loved hunting for treasure? That sounded like just the right person for her!
There weren't any ruins to explore in the oceanic biodome, but that didn't seem to stop Wiera from searching. The wheke-ika hatchling had tracked her for a while, waiting for the best moment. Wiera approached the patch of weeds she was hidden in, gently prying them open to reveal the little dragonet.
:: I think I'm the treasure you're looking for today. :: she said, beaming. :: I'm Tecad and I've been waiting for you to find me. ::

HATCHING

Very little gets passed her keen perception. Tecad is usually quiet and soft-spoken, but she loves to tease.

ADULTS
Pok and Wiera had returned to their home-ocean after their seadragons had matured enough to be able to use their abilities without a worry of stuff getting blown up or displaced. Despite adding two dragons to their lives, they'd fallen back into quite predictable patterns.
"Wiera is late for dinner again." Plerennus told Pok.
Pok sighed despite Plerennus' chuckle as he continued: "She's got Tecad with her. She can make it back within a single second."
"Which is probably why she's been getting later and later." Pok answered, "Why are her parents even worried about her? She's got a dragon keeping her safe."
"Mothers shall worry?" Plerennus tried.
"I guess that must be it." Pok resigned himself and headed out to tell Wiera it was time for dinner.
At that time, Wiera was fin-deep into some sunken treasure. The coins had decomposed to razor-sharp disks but they still held some luster. Which was why she'd lost track of time. Tecad could have told her. Would have told her, if only the blue dragoness with the many tentacles was lost in the mystery of why a treasure was here without a shipwreck.
"They must have dumped the contents overboard." she concluded, "But why? Because they needed to hide evidence of a theft? or to keep it save from thieves? Or could there be another reason...."
It was around that time that Plerennus and Pok found the duo. Pok had to touch Wiera before she even noticed the merman was around.
"It's time to go home." Pok said and glared at Tecad: "You could have told her the time."
Tecad blinked innocently and said: "I think she might be doing this on purpose so you can come find her."
Plerennus laughed, causing air bubbles to disturb the deep waters, "Maybe she has a point." the fiery dragon told his bond.
Wiera started shaking her head and opened her mouth to disagree but Tecad interrupted her before she could talk:
"I do believe the lady protests too much."
"Shalala, kiss the girl." Plerennus sang and pushed his bond into the lovely mermaid.
Unable to avoid contact, Pok did just that.
"I thought you'd never do that." Wiera remarked with a smile that told him he might have just been played.
