Bleep
HATCHING
A third dragon crouched in the shadows, near the shards of Tajiruoth's
shell. His body rippled in dark shades, but he had the same firestorm
wings as his twin. He went largely unnoticed, and most people never even
realized that the dark-skinned dragon had shared an egg with the brighter,
more flamboyant Tijaruoth.
One candidate, however, did notice. The alien Bleep walked over to the
hatchling, curious.
"What are you doing over
here?"
The hatchling looked up at him and seemed to relax with a shrug.
"Nothing
now, I
guess. I'm
Meteorstorm
Rashaelith,
Bleep. Will
you be
my rider?"
Bleep, surprised at his unintended bonding, agreed and they
left the sands together.
ADULTHOOD/FLIGHT
Bleep, Blip, Rashaelith and Sparrow were on a trip to the mainland of
Syl'Neriss. They had hiked through the forests, picked fruit and now, when
the sun was on it's highest, the four of them had gone swimming in a
sheltered cove. Bleep and Rashaelith sat on the beach, guarding the food
and watching the two others as they swam in the waters
Bleep smiled as he watched the young crown prince of his nation frolic
about with a burly blue dragon. The two of them seemed to be made for each
other. They both loved the same things, thought the same things and were
rather pure. Bleep wondered just how the universe could make it so these
wondrous creatures always found whoever was right for them.
"Fate?" Rashaelith asked.
"I tend to not believe in fate." Bleep
said, "that sounds so unshakable."
"Like you're stuck. Watching a royal pain for
example."
Bleep laughed, "Something like that."
"But you don't really dislike him anymore."
"No... It's all cleared up a bit."
"He's just a regular kid after all."
"He won't grow much anymore. Mind and body."
Bleep remarked.
"You know... We've all grown up considerably.
With needs. Even Sparrow might not be as innocent as you think."
"Oh my god. Don't ever tell Blip about mating
flights!" Bleep called out.
"No, no." Rashaelith said,
"I meant for me."
"I don't know if I'm too ready for that."
Bleep sighed.
"Because you think you'll never get chosen?"
Bleep startled as the dragon laid his finger on one of the areas that
really pained him. Everyone was so different here and he wasn't what
they'd call handsome. But that wasn't all.
"I also feel it's a big responsibility. I have
you, and Blip and Sparrow. What would happen if I were to take on someone
else?"
"As in a woman."
"Yes make a family. Or something like that. I'm
not sure it'd even work here."
"Why do you think it would be a responsibility
more? Don't you think someone else to talk to could make you feel better?
Don't you think they could help carry the burden?"
Bleep sighed, "It might be good to have that."
"I don't feel the enthusiasm here."
Bleep laughed, "Well maybe I should give it a
try."
"Maybe you should socialise more too."
Rashaelith pushed.
"You're not happy yet?"
"Oh, no, very happy." Rashaelith
quickly said lest he'd lose the ok to chase.
