Hatching 14 & 15
Purple Kaywinktra and Brown Arajaxth
Purple Kirawinktra and Blue Ciqantath
Foliage Avalonath and Rain Kleath

People were running on the Isle. Eggs had been announced to hatch at the nekrat bay. Then, when most people had started to speed toward the joyous event, more dragon's voices rose. It were the twin voices of Kirawinktra and Naywinktra whose clutches were also showing signs of live.
For a moment there was a stagnation of movement. Which hatching should be attended? Which clutch would be the most spectacular? Almost as one did the crowd turn to the regular hatching sands. Nerats hatched under water anyway.
Kirawinktra had her eggs shielded by her glossy purple wing membranes, while Kaywinktra seemed to be more open and happy to see her children bond. Milineth and 'Xeth, along with Arajaxth and Ciqatanth, sat close to the twin purples as the eggs rocked under their watchful eyes.
Suddenly, the crowd's attention was turned to the purple dragoness Kirawinktra as she opened her shielding wing to let a dark, lavender-shaded nebula dragon emerge. He crawled over his mother's tail and eyed the candidates shyly. Then, he turned back to Kira. "My bond is not here, mother. I will go to Mythicalae. My name is Kircon."
Kirawinktra nodded her large head and nudged the eggs beneath her wings to encourage her babies. While she did this, two of Kaywinktra's eggs cracked open, and an obviously dominant dawn almost stepped on her younger pale rain brother. "Finomkodoth!" She proclaimed, trumpeting expertly for a hatchling.
"Karenwin," sighed Finomkodoth. "I have waited for you."
"Come, let's eat!" the exuberant dawn cried and led her new bond off the Sands.
The pale rain pulled himself up off the sand, and promptly decided to go to the Thieves Haven, away from his sister who continued to eye him menacingly later on. His name was later revealed to the recordskeepers as Ramview.
The next egg to hatch was another of Kirawinktra's, and another brighter rain pushed out of his shell and entered the world from beneath Kira's wing. "I will not bond today," he said. "My name is Carth." he waited for a moment before saying: "In stead I shall go to Bremek Weyr."
After Carth's decision two more eggs began to crack, one from Kaywinktra and one more from Kirawinktra. Kira's hatchling was a dark blood coloured dragon, who immediately found Perth, a green unbonded dragon. "Perth. I am Koentath, your bond." His voice was almost shadowy, but Perth seemed to like it.
"Of course, Koentath. Let's get you fed."
Kaywinktra's son was another nebula, lilac in colour, like spring flowers. "Father," he said to Arajaxth, "may I follow you back home to Darkling Dawn?"
"Yes," said Arajaxth, "but first, tell them your name."
The nebula male sighed but turned obediently to the people watching. "It's Katraxas."
It was near the end of the hatchings on Kaywinktra and Kirawinktra's eggs when Avalonath too raised her voice and announced that her three eggs were hatching. Her eggs rocked and tossed and soon a wet muzzle pierced through the shell of one of them. Pushing through, the dark green dragoness sat on the sands, shaking her head before she got up and moved toward the candidates. She pushed past the dragon-candidates from the sanctuary toward Taylor, a young human girl.
"I am Minirith, Taylor." she said, "Can you bring me to the food?"
"Of course Minirith." Taylor said with a giggle at the appetite of her dragon, "Follow me."
Directly after the hatching of Minirith, another foliage had made her way out of her shell - one of Kirawinktra's - and Aradath came to assist her. "Are you all right, Kayitra?" He asked, fanning his blue wings uncertainly.
"Yes, I am. Now, about the food... I'm very hungry, bondmine. So let's go."
The newly bonded pair left the Sands in hopes of meat to feast upon for both of them.
The next egg of Avalonath smashed to the ground spilling not one, but two dragonets to the floor. One was a very small bright female rain, the next a small opal male. Both of them were small even by Lantessaman standards, but they were healthy and all the more agile.
The male was the first to move. He dashed toward the dragons, leaving his sister sitting on the sand. His eye had fallen on Movuth, a blue-Green Darkling Dawn dragon living at the Mythicalae Sanctuary. He skidded to a stop before the larger dragon saying: "My name is Urusth, Movuth. I like you, I want to be just like you when I grow up!"
"Just like me?" the dragoness asked.
"Ok, not exactly... Race you to the food!"
"Hey!" the dragoness called, "That' not fair." she teleported out of the cavern toward the feeding tables no doubt.
Meanwhile, Urusth's twin was still sitting on the sand, not making a move toward the candidates, though they tried getting her attention. It wasn't until a school of dragonders burst in that the hatchling finally got to her feet, albeit just to reach out toward them.
"Aren't these supposed to be locked up?" Trix asked Donriven sitting beside her.
"Herein tries to keep them locked in," Donriven answered, "but he also states that they are intelligent little critters. they seem to have a love for escaping he can't really get out of them."
"I hope they don't cause too much of a commotion."
Trix shrugged, "I can miss the paperwork."
"You love the paperwork."
Donriven replied with an ironic grin.
"You know me too well."
Their attention returned to the hatchling female who seemed to be the center of activity. A humming sound suddenly filled the cave and slowly words started forming from the hum.
"We are yours, Yorthopa." the buzz said, "We long to be free. Take us away."
"Why aren't you free?" the rain asked.
"We cannot leave without a dragon. Be ours as we are yours..."
"Where would we go?"
"Everywhere..." the dragonders whispered, after which they got too excited to make out much of the humming buzz. "Take us." seemed to come back a lot of times, but whatever else was said got lost in the murmur.
"I too want to be free." the rain said, "I will go with you." she smiled, "I'll have adventures." with that said, the tiny blue dragoness nearly skipped away from the sands.
Two more eggs remained, one from Kaywinktra and the second from Kirawinktra. Kaywinktra nudged hers, and among the broken shards the dragon exploded from its confining shell. He stepped across the sands with such grace that Heng Mei Wu couldn't help but be impressed.
"Heng Mei Wu." The dragonet said, fanning his blood-red wings before his chosen. "I hope I, Li Huo Long, have earned your respect, mine."
"Of course, my Black Fire Dragon. Let us go."
Li Huo Long crooned and allowed himself to be led to food.
The last egg of Kirawinktra's eggs hatched, and Tanya Satu walked cautiously up to the purple mother. Kira nodded her head and Tanya stepped forward, helping the most beautiful dragonet she had ever seen from under Kira's wing. Breathless, she stood on the Sands with the little one, until she finally said something.
"Tanya, I am Keshet; I am yours." The young spectral looked into her bond's eyes and the crowd applauded for the new rare pair. "Can we eat now?"
"Yes, Keshet!"
Tanya exclaimed, pleased as punch to have a spectral dragonet bonded to her.
One egg remained on the sands. one rocking egg, that did not seem to be near to hatching. The silence in the tribunes was broken by the watchers talking among themselves. Avalonath let her eyes flare across the spectators, emitting a low angry bugle to shut everyone up. This hatching wasn't over yet.
More carefully, she uttered an encouraging sounds and nuzzled the last of her eggs. It fell over, breaking open when it hit the sand. Two foliage wings lay sprawled on the ground, but the tail sticking in the air was a rich kind of brown. The hatchling started shuffling back until she finally stood up straight. She then moved to the last candidates. There were four of them and only one of her, but her choice was easy. There was only one that had her colours, her thoughts, that was hers.
"Whisper Oakwood." she called, "Take me to that forest of yours! I want to see it for real."
"That can be arranged." the star dancer replied, "But first I suggest you eat, I can barely stay afloat with you being so hungry, Xylia."
"Lead me to the meat, mine."
the dragoness said, smiling with her bright white, sharp teeth.
The sands that lay empty now would not remain so for long. As the audience, new dragonpairs and remaining candidates filed out, two new dragonesses made their way into the cavern. Soon there would be new eggs, more  candidates, more pairs. Today had truly been an eventful one.
