Information
Ivartian information can be found

Setting
The Ivartian dragons have long since lived in the Ivart
Kingdom on their homeworld. Their numbers have grown in recent years and the
current blue dragon ushered a decree that those who wished so could try their
luck on another planet. Ivartian dragons of all ages have taken up the offer and
were brought to the main continent of Syl'Neriss where they now wait. Some will
bond, others will be sponsored, some will choose their own future home.
These armour-plated dragons can fend for themselves. But for the right human,
they might be willing to take a gamble. Be certain to appeal to the dragon with
colour-themed webpages (or descriptions of the place where they will live) and
look at what they like in their description.
Ivartian Dragons come in 6 colours that are ranked from high to low: Blue -
White - Purple - Grey - Green - Amber. They are a long-lived species who can
bond from adulthood (1 year old). When their rider dies of natural causes the
dragon will survive and can choose to bond again. Clutches are small (1-2 eggs)
and hatchlings are raised communally.
Bonding blurbs & Roleplay
Kantsubaki looked around the mountain
pasture where the Ivartian dragons had taken up temporary residence.
He was out of his element, far away from Shizuka Cove and his duties.
Without his brothers and far away from the mother he always vowed to
protect. A cold breeze enveloped him and Kantsubaki added to it with
his ice magic. A male purple Ivartian dragon lifted his head and
studied the pale half-kitsune with interest. Almost regally he moved a
bit closer, waiting. Kantsubaki studied the purple dragon for a moment. He knew that this was not the highest ranked dragon available. Immediately, he was angry about that. Pride spoke first for him. But his thoughts continued, from prideful to practical. Who was he to know that the highest rank would even be compatible with him in his personality and desires? And perhaps it would take a lower rank to give him some... modesty. His narrowed eyes widened, and his hard expression softened. He spoke up. "I am responsible for the management of the lives of many people. The people include human sized and shaped individuals, as well as dragons that fly and dragons that swim." He held out a large conch-like shell. "I live by the sea. These animals are plentiful and delicious. But I am responsible for these, as well. If their water becomes soiled, they will die, and we will die." He set the large shell down, in front of the dragon. Kantsubaki had been told that Ivartian dragons liked gifts. "I have caught, killed, and eaten the animal that resided in this shell. This is the largest of its kind that I have ever seen, and is a representative of the sea's bounty. And it was delicious." He stopped, then pulled out a rough, round stone that was, incidentally, about the size of the shell. "This is a geode. It came from the mountains, which loom over us. They erupt sometimes and this stone can form over time. What is special about them is they have crystals inside." He pulled the geode apart, cut into two halves. "I have cut this stone in half already to show you what is inside. I will not bore you with metaphors, but they are in fact, quite beautiful on the inside." He set the geode down beside the shell. "Though the land I share responsibility for is lorded over by my father, I likely will inherit it eventually. I have these places to offer to you, should you desire to come with me. My whole world is undiscovered except for this one continent and I would gladly find more in my father's name..." The idea of adventures in the wild was exhilarating. Even if he enjoyed being fawned over, it did get a little tiresome after a while. Maybe this dragon would want to find new places with him. The truth was, he had no idea who this dragon was, or what it wanted in life, or from him. He was not even sure if he had described the right things about his life. It was surprisingly stressful, but he put on a brave face. "What do you think?" The purple male considered. He was looking for a domain to reign over. He wanted to oversee it from a lonely top. The geode sparkled with possibilities. The dragon could only covet a lair that would be lined with these. As he turned his attention to the empty shell, he smelled the silty residu of seawater and life. It did smell delicious. Inclining his head, the dragon opened up his mind and spoke telepathically: "I believe we have a mutual goal. I would not mind waiting for your father's domain to pass to you, but what would really make me happy is to find places of our own. To explore and claim for ourselves. And then to care for it, to watch over it and to make it prosper. And this I see you wish for too. To commemorate our goal I shall take the name Ruler." When Kantsubaki turned to leave with Ruler, the large dragon stopped him and added: "I was asked to educate and care for one of our young. This amber female has expressed her wish to come with me. As of yet she has not yet chosen a name or bond, but she might find someone worthy in our domain." |

Not too far from Kantsubaki, Dazhbog, a
bipedra 3-headed hydra with red hide and white feathers, watched the
interaction. He had been sponsored to the young lordling and he'd
admired him ever since as he'd been given a place in the world.
Kantsubaki needed more power. And Dazhbog would provide it. He'd
settled close to the rocky slopes and was broodily watching the
Ivartian dragons, almost challenging. A
grey female Ivartian sat down beside him, looking just as surly and
menacing. Dazhbog had no objects to offer to another dragon. He knew what Kantsubaki knew, especially that Ivartians liked gifts. But all he had to offer was himself. Everything else he might need had been given to him by the boy. Therefore, at first, he believed this Grey female was here to see Kantsubaki, not Dazhbog himself. "It looks like you are out of luck. My sponsor will win him over, I am sure." The bipedra's heads nodded, the bobbing motions together almost comical. At the same time, one could say that Dazhbog was ready for almost anything. He would fight the Purple or the Grey without hesitation or mercy, should Kantsubaki need assistance. He wouldn't need help, but Dazhbog was never sure or trusting of strangers. He would without hesitation give his life saving the boy. He devoted one head to the task of watching the Grey Ivartian. She was, after all, interesting. Her scales and spikes were foreign. He was used to some flying dragons, but mostly finned dragons, like nekrats for example. He could not say if he thought she was beautiful but she was exotic. And he did like the look of a dragon with spikes, he realized. She, in particular, looked ready for a fight. Would she cause Kantsubaki some trouble? But the Grey dragoness had no interest in the pale and squishy boy who was so dear to Dazhbog. No, she much favoured the hydra. Three heads had to be better than one after all. Little would get past his six eyes. Tentatively she tapped her tail against Dazhbog's side, looking for the strength of his hide and the sharpness of his claws and talons. Liking what she found she decided to put her future in his paws. "I'm Tornado and I won't protect you." "As if I need protection." the hydra growled back. "That's what I like about you." a bright, lime-green head popped up from out of the grass and the dragoness harrumphed. "Should you wish to protect anything, I have a ward joining us. He chose to go with me so he'd better try to keep up." The green youngster chirped affirmative and ran toward the two older dragons to join them on their journey. |

Sequoia was - where else would he be? -
watching the dragons from the highest branches of a tree. The pine was
large enough but paled in comparison to some of the trees at Bald
Mountain. He was large for an elf, which meant that he was considered
small but not tiny by the people of Lantessama. He'd preferred to keep
to himself and had mostly spent his time in the trees out here on the
main continent, observing and waiting. One of the larger green male
Ivartian dragons had noticed the revived elf. Though still young, the
dragon was already big and would still grow in the coming years. After
days of waiting, the dragon had decided he should make the first move
in this situation. So he stood on his hind legs, stretching as far as
he could go to bring his eyes level with Sequoia. He did not form the
bond just yet but he hoped his eyes conveyed the interest he held for
the elf. Sequoia was surprised to feel a bit of a bump under himself, the tree was not going anywhere of course, but there was always the possibility that he might fall from it! But then he realized the source of the nudge: a green dragon, steadying himself with one paw on the trunk of the tree! He'd learned that there was some magic (indeed!) that could help communicate, but he was still hesitant to rely on only his voice, so he also sent his thoughts toward the dragon. "You're going to be a big dragon," he sent, "I hardly even heard you approach, though, that's a good skill to have in a hunter or protector." He became bold, "I am Sequoia, who are you?" Startled that they could already communicate, Pine could not help but let his name slip. He wondered briefly whether or not others would be able to do the same. The images he found in Sequoia's mind were wonderful however. Mountains and forests, just the place he'd wanted to inhabit. Now there was just that one thing: "I also have custody of one of our young. He is Amber but has not yet chosen a name." |

The Wyldkin-Gelgelan Yilbasis Bailil of
Velvet Lane had been hard to miss. Though he wasn't all that tall, his
white and grey fur, long ears and fluffy tail made the young man stand
out. Somehow though, he had managed to evade just about any
furry-lover on Lantessama, no matter how hard they'd tried to get him
to join them for diner, a walk on the beach or a talk over drinks. But
Yilbasi had not only been noticed by the humans. Some of the Ivartians
also had their eyes on him. Two females, one green and one purple were
both very interested in this versatile rabbit. The purple one loved
his creativity and mending powers while the green one mostly cared for
the luxurous velvet of his clothes. In fact she was the first to move,
snatching a piece of the fabric of his jacket. With a high keen of
distress, the purple dragoness voiced her dismay. Now both dragons
stood before Yilbasi, eyeing him to see how he'd react. Yilbasi was rather taken by surprise by the pair of dragons, so much more so than virtually any biped or 'person shaped person' around. He was distracted of course, most of the time he'd been at this place. People did think he was 'just perfect for some of those Holiday dragons where had they hopped off to' but no - no, he was the rabbit-person, not the dragon right? When the dragons, seemingly both females by the information he could garner with his passive empathy, started squabbling over his outfit - and then one went right ahead and tugged free one of the cuffs of his coat! On one hand that was a touch rude, but on the other, they were both so sincere about it all. So he took a moment and gathered his power, his wits, and froze time around the three of them. It was stretching his ability, for sure, normally he'd have been the only thing moving. "It's all right," he said, reaching out and gently plucking the cloth from the dragon's claws, and she for all the worlds looked sheepish when he did so. "It can be fixed, you see?" He applied a bit of another power, feeling himself getting a little woozy though... dropped the time pause because the spat was over. "Can't make something like this without knowing how each and every fiber fits together! Comfort and style all at once, that's how I look at it. How about you two?" The purple female responded first. She'd been wooed by Yilbasi's mending powers and knew that she would not come across another who would be so skilled. "I'll go with you and keep you safe. I'm Purple Needle." The green dragoness had a calculating look in her eye. Not only was this fluffy being well-dressed but also soft. She still felt the lingering touch of his paw on her scales and she wanted more: "I'm coming too! I'm Green Velvet." |

That Junipher had managed to get even
this
far in her pilgrimage was honestly a shock to her at times. She was
far from home and she was
alone,
having managed to force herself to part ways with the childhood friend
she'd begun this journey with. The black-and-red mothkin knew,
logically speaking, that she would never grow if she did not force her
own boundaries... but boy, she sure was still far from
comfortable
with her progression. Lantessama Isle was a calming, comforting environment at least. Well populated with sapients of all kinds, yes, but she never had to hunt terribly hard to find a secluded tree to sit under to simultaneously calm and center herself, and psych herself up for what she -- deep inside -- really did want to do. Her chitinous fingers plucked delicately at the strings of the curious, moon-shaped instrument balanced across her lap, harmonizing the sounds to the rustle of the leaves overhead, and the distant patterns of the waves across the beach that was distantly within sight. Lantessama Isle was a place of dragons, and as frightening as the thought of permanently changing her life by introducing another to it was, it was still something she wanted to do. She closed her eyes, antennae twitching lightly with the breeze as she focused on the notes she was channeling, a combination of harmonies and discords, just like the internal clash between her wants and her fears. Not too far away, an Amber dragoness who was more sandy yellow than orange, heard the music and the melody haunted her. It was incomplete after all. It needed... a flute or whistle. Maybe some drums. A toothy grin appeared on her face as she imagined this unusual moth creature had what it took. The music was novel and she believed she would never tire of it. Now how was one to approach a bond when they weren't exactly aiming to get draconic attention? The amber dragoness whistled and her young companion, an emerald green male who was small now but would grow to be on the bigger side, judging by the size of his paws, stomped those paws on the ground in a rhythm that fit with the music. Though they were unrelated, the two had grown fond of each other's company and the amber had offered to take the green along to teach him what he needed. The amber dragoness stepped closer, keeping up the whistle until she came eye to eye with Junipher. "I am amber Piper." she introduced herself, "I like your music." |

Just a bit further away, a shy purple
dragoness was looking at the two dragons and one moth person making
music. Oh to embrace the unknown so! The purple wished to be part of
such a group. Though she did not feel like she would like to bond just
yet, she did want companions to travel. Visiting Lantessama had been
great, but she wanted to see more! Judging by the diverse sounds of
the music, the moth person had been around. Hesitating, the purple moved at the last possible moment. The trio was just about to leave when she lurched after them and called out to Amber Piper: "Would you agree to let me tag along? I won't be a burden. I'm fully grown and quite capable of entertaining myself." The dragoness saw the confused stare of the moth person. Understanding dawned that the moth person could not hear her thoughts since they had not bonded. She pleaded with the Amber again: "Please tell her what I ask of you. I want to travel and you three seem like marvelous companions." Amber Piper relented and told Junipher what had transpired between them. "She wants to know your name." Amber Piper said. How unusual, but the dragoness agreed that she needed an alias at least so that Junipher might make her directions clear. "She may call me Purple Sonnet." |
