+ Sekally +

Sekally had been in the same room for more than 4 months now. Everyday was the same. Every day was dark, being scared of a single man and wanting to escape, but not knowing how...

+ How it began +

Sekally was a young girl of 20 years old. She enjoyed life and every day had his new surprises. Sekally had a lot of friends and she tried to please them all. She was as they would say the perfect friend.
It was on a late summers day when Sekally met Carl. A handsome man of 29 years old with brown eyes and black soft curling hair. And he made clear that he found her attractive. But she had a boyfriend already and loved him deeply.
Although she had told Carl that for more than once, he still kept courting her.
At first she had wanted to keep him as a friend, but later on she noticed that that could never happen. He only wanted her love and wouldn't settle for less. And she couldn't talk him out of that.

A few weeks later, he had asked her to come to his lace. And although every cell in her body screamed not to go, she went.
She took her car after leaving a not for her boyfriend. She didn't trust Carl.. At least now she would have a backup plan.
She parked her car in front of the door of his house. It was a small house in a row. They all had the same look; small, two stories up with 3 windows and a door in them. It was a new project of the town to freshen up it's appearance, but Sekally thought that it hadn't worked. Almost all the houses were empty and would stay empty too.

She gathered her courage and walked to the door. She knocked on it and almost immediately after the door swung open.
"Sekally my love..." He said in a whisper.
Sekally felt her stomach turn. "Yes Carl. Why did you want to see me?"
"I just wanted to see your pretty face once more.." He touched her cheek and she pulled away. She saw the anger in his eyes, but his voice stayed calm. "Want something to drink?"
"No thank you. I have to go away soon.. I have a meeting." Although she had a day of, she didn't want to spent one minute too long with him alone.
"Then I'll be quick.. Come in.." A strange twinkle was noticeable in his eyes. Sekally backed away and wanted to run to her car. But he pulled her inside and closed the door hard. "No way I'm letting you go now." He whispered in her ear. Sekally wanted to defend herself and get away, but he was too strong and she was only pushed hard against the wall. It became black before her eyes for a moment, but she could still hear him, feel him close to her body.
"Carl? What are you doing? Let me go."
"Never..."
Sekally tried to scream, but he slapped her in her face so that the whole room turned. Tranquilised for a moment, he pulled her on her feet and dragged her to his bedroom. Sekally, when entering the room, was fully awake again and resisted him, but he was too strong for her and she was pushed on the bed. She tried to scream, but her breath was taken away by his weight on her longs. The only sound that crossed her lips was a weak 'no'. She closed her eyes when she fought for her life. She didn't want to see his face when she was struggling, but even when she closed her eyes or turned her head, she would still see his face, red from excitement.

When he was finally finished, he rolled of her and she scrambled to the other side of the bed. She wanted to leave, but her legs wouldn't carry her. She was shaking and couldn't think at all.
"Please let me go.." Her voice made a high croaking sound.
"My Love... I'm never letting you go. You're too beautiful." He smiled at her as he got up. "We're made for each other." He kissed her and she hit him. She didn't know where she got the strength from, but she had scratched him. He hit her in her face and she felt her heart bounce in her cheek. She hadn't cried before, but now it was all to much. She started to cry and felt so bad because she was crying that she cried even more.
"Oh honey... You'll learn.. Like every other girl did." He left the room, leaving her alone with the shame.

It wasn't until later that she remembered what he had said. The others... There have been more girls like this.. And she wouldn't be the last..

+ The following months +

Sekally had run over the thought that she shouldn't have come, that it was all her fault. She must have done something so bad and this was the punishment.
Now the next day, when she remembered that she had left her boyfriend a note of where she was, she felt a coldness inside her heart. What had she done?
And she even felt colder when she heard a knocking on the door late in the evening. She ran to the door, but noticed that it was locked. She banged on the door, screaming for help, but nobody heard her. The knocking came again, but after that it was silent again. Until Carl came back from work.
"Have you been a nice girl?" He asked Sekally.
Sekally looked at him. She was scared of him, of what he might do, but she was more angry with him than scared.
"Don't try it. I know what you're up too. Speak to me. I'll beat you senseless if you don't. And it would be a shame to hurt your pretty face."
"What do you want me to say? You'll probably hit me even if I speak." She couldn't help it. Although she was scared, she had said it without thinking.
Carl smiled for a moment. "You won't get the note your ex wrote to me with that attitude." He waved a single paper in the air. Sekally's breath stocked.
"I thought you might want to know what's in it... Being your first day and all, I'll tell you even if you haven't been a nice girl." He patted her cheek and she pulled back. "I can still change my mind.." He threatened.
She hated him, but she would hate it even more if she didn't know what would be in the letter. He smiled. "Kiss me and you'll know what's in the letter."
Sekally felt her stomach turn and then turn again. What was she going to do? She wanted to know what was in the letter. But would she go that far? She decided that the letter wouldn't be that important. Although she wanted to know more than anything what was in it, he would never forget that she would be so easy. So she stood as straight as she could, her lips pressed together.
"I thought you wouldn't. But hey... trying doesn't kill anybody now does it?" It was silent for a moment. "What will we do then? I know..." The grin on Carls ugly face widened and although her fear grew, she stood as still as she could.
"I'll read it, then tear it apart and you will have something to do when I'm out to work."

Although his face was as plane as before, she could see that something in the letter made him angry. He tore the letter into small pieces but he didn't gave it to her. He put it in his pocked.
"If you are a good girl, you'll get a piece of paper. Now I have to make a call..."
She could hear him speak on the phone. It wasn't to Mark (her boyfriend), it seemed he was calling his work. He would stay home tomorrow... Sekally's heart stopped for a few seconds when she heard it. What was in the letter? She had to find out. But she would never please him either..

The next morning, Carl entered the room and raped her again. She tried to fight, but he was still to strong and she was growing weaker with every day that passed.
But Carl was interrupted in his act when somebody knocked on the door. "That is your ex.." He whispered in her ear, when he was catching his breath. He slipped into a robe and walked downstairs. She laid as still as she could, but then she remembered the letter.. It was in his pocket. She rolled out of bed, fell on the ground and crawled to his closes. Luckily for her, it weren't large pieces. She could easily put it back together.
I will come back tomorrow morning. If you have done something to hurt Sekally, I will kill you.
She sat on her knees, crying with the pieces in her hand. She sat there until in a shock until something happened downstairs. A fight. Sekally hoped that Mark would come and save her. Hope washed away all tiredness and gave her strength, only to disappear when Carl entered the room again. His hands were bloody and instinctively she knew what had happened. She began to shake her head, and whispered 'no'. Softly the 'no' became a scream and she ran to Carl. She wanted to push him off the stairs, kill him, hurt him as much as he had hurt her. But when she got near him, her rage had turned into sorrow and she fell to the ground. Clutching the letter tight in her hand.
"Now look what you have done." Carl pointed at his white robe that was red of blood. Sekally sat on her knees, crying as her whole world came tumbling down.
