"On the first
day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...."
Chrissy Cheer sang as she walked between the snow-topped evergreens. The
sky was bright white with the crisp quality that promised cold and a
chance of snow. Chrissy couldn't help but smile at the prospect. Tonight
she'd be snuggling below a warm blanket in front of the fireplace with
some ginger-spiced cookies and a good book. Yesterday she'd decorated
her tree and hung wreaths and garlands all along the rafters.
Dreaming of her evening plans, Chrissy nearly missed the small cry that
was meant to alert her of the presence of the tail she was about to step
on. How she could have missed it was a mystery. The tail was bright
purple after all.
"Oh excuse me." she said.
The long, serpentine dragon pulled his tail out of the way and turned to
face the Christmas elf.
"Not a problem, no harm was done."
"Nice to meet you, it's been a while since I last saw a dragon." Chrissy
said as she introduced herself to the dragon that dwarfed her.
"Ah yes, it seems I am quite lost."
"Oh that's horrible during the season. Please, allow me to apologise by
offering you shelter. As they say, the more's the merrier and that
counts double during the Christmastide."
"I shall take you up on the offer, you may call me
Vudij." the dragon responded.

The second day of
Christmas, Chrissy took he rusual morning walk. The weather had taken a
turn for the worse. Dark clouds gathered overhead and she felt sure that
the snow would definitely fall today. Luckily her draconic visitor had
found shelter in some nearby caves. If there was one thing Chrissy could
offer it was space and she quite liked the idea of having someone to
talk to.
"Excuse me." a soft voice interrupted
Chrissy's thoughts.
"Yes?" she replied, looking for the source of the feminine voice.
She found it in a well-camouflaged black and white dragoness. Her eyes
were a bright purple and the only thing that gave her away against the
snow and stone of the mountains at her back.
"It seems I flew into some kind of space
distortion. I was following the scent of a friend and now I'm suddenly
here. Could you maybe give me some directions."
"Oh, I met another dragon yesterday, Vudij. Is it him you seek?"
"Yes it is!" the dragoness replied
relieved.
"I can take you to him if you want. Please do feel free to stay for the
coming days. These days are perfect for having company." Chrissy invited
the dragon.
"Thank you, My name is Arosahold."

On the third day
of Christmas, Chrissy stayed close at home, preparing a feast for her
draconic guests. She'd strung lights in the trees outside her home and
had lit up the barbecue to grill some choice pieces of meat when the air
around her grew unsteady. Right before her eyes, a green, whiskered head
popped out in the air and soon a long serpentine body followed.
"That smells divine." the dragon
sighed.
"It seems I'll need to get extra." Chrissy replied with all the
hospitality of a Christmas Elf.
The Eastern-styled dragon looked around and seemed to notice he was no
longer home.
"How peculiar?" he shrugged,
"How did I get here?"
"It seems there are some space distortions connecting your realm to
mine."
At least that ahd been Arosahold's explenation. Chrissy ran with it. The
dragon touoched down, nearly knocking down a few trees. It seems this
dragon, was a bit of a klutz.
"Who put these trees here? Rude."
"I'm sorry for the inconvenience,..."
The dragon took the hint: "Yayotecu."

On the fourth day
of Christmas, Chrissy was starting to expect some things. She'd become
quite adept at sensing the space distortions so she was quite
disappointed when none were around. Maybe she shouldn't be so greedy but
she'd started to feel like her guests were little gifts left for her by
the divine powers. The Christmas Season was far from over so she'd been
eager to see who she might meet today.
Setting out on her morning walk, she paid close attention to the other
wildlife, making certain they'd not been spooked by the three dragons
now taking up residence in the mountains.
"Controlling some animals
is easy enough for Fesiss."
The voice that had spoken sounded quite angry and harsh. Chrissy looked
around and soon found the bright yellow dragoness with fiery manes and
wings.Fesiss looked quite demonic but in the thought of Christmas,
Chrissy felt she needed to extend an invitation.
"I thinak you for keeping everyone calm. Would you like to come over to
my house to meet the others?"
"I think I'll pass for the
social gathering. I'll be around."
Before she knew it, the dragoness had blinked away, leaving only heat
around.

On the fifth day
of Christmas, Chrissy was looking for Fesiss. She'd seen a flash of fire
during the night and had a good idea of where to look. However the
prickly dragoness did not want to show herself. Dejected, Chrissy was
making her way back home when her mind picked up a loud song.
Chrissy had some experience with Mind Speak because of Yayotecu, though
the chaotic neutral dragon hardly thought to talk to her, so busy was he
with exploring his new lodgings.
"Are you close?" Chrissy asked, not knowing whether or not her voice
would even reach the wassailer.
Quite unexpectedly, a pink-purple head popped out of a cluster of bushes
and deep blue eyes gazed upon the Christmas Elf.
"Very close!" the loud voice sounded
in her mind.
"Nice to meet you." Chrissy continued.
"You found me! now you must hide and I go
seek!" the dragon shouted.
"We can play, but only until it's time to make dinner." Chrissy
promised.
"Can Engisia come for dinner?" the
high-tension dragon asked.
"Of course!"

On the sixth day
of Christmas, Chrissy was playing hide and seek with the dragons. Well,
all but Fesiss who had not responded to the invitation she'd sent out.
Thick snow blanketed the ground and a thick mist obscured sight so
looking for dragons was in fact a challenge.
She quickly found Engisia who could not keep quiet to save their life.
Likewise, Yayotecu had soon lost focus and had wandered toward Chrissy
to ask for a snack. Arosahold and Vudij were however taking the game
serious.
Spying a flash of grey, Chrissy ran toward what she thought was
Arosahold. But when she reached the hiding dragon, she found a different
one.
"Oh hello, I didn't know other dragons were playing."
"I found an invitation, so I came." the
furry grey-and brown charming dragoness replied. She had pristine white
feathered wings and ice-blue feathers lining her back. Her blue eyes
looked open and innocent.
"I quite like game, shouldn't I have?"
"By all means, I think you foudn Fesiss' invitation but she did not want
to play. Will you be staying?"
"I'd like that. My name is Lerakaum."

On the seventh
day of Christmas, the sun shone brightly in the sky, trying to melt the
snow that covered the mountains and trees. But the air still stung with
cold so Chrissy knew that the thaw would not start just yet. The light
was enjoyable and she couldn't wait to go out on her daily stroll to
enjoy it.
Alas, someone else had other ideas. The bright yellow Whorling with
green stripes and white fins prowled closer. He had been left out for
the past days, hadn't been told of the lovely retreat some of his fellow
Whorlings were enjoying and he was angry.
Reshaping metal was his biggest skill so it was childsplay for
Carnostle-ngo to reshape every door-handle, every railing and every
window to keep Chrissy inside.
"What's happening?" she called from the inside of her cabin.
"You're being punished for your oversight."
Cargo hissed.
"What is it you want?" Chrissy challenged.
"I want good food and fun parties and a nice
little vacation too!"
"Well, if you le tme out I can give you a formal invitation. I won't do
it like this."
"Hmmph."
But Cargo complied and opened up the house so Chrissy could come
outside.
"Good. At least now I'll be able to go out and prepare for tonight's
festivities.... Since you have such a handy power I'd like you to create
some metal cages for the bonfires."
Cargo needed to learn how to behave. So Chrissy felt it was only just to
have him work a bit. Hopefully that'd teach him that hospitality did not
need threatening did not work to get his way but offering up help would!

On the eighth day
of Christmas, Chrissy was still trying to recover from her brush with
Carnostle-ngo. The dragon had complained all through the day and even
during the bonfire-festivities at night. He'd left a considerably sour
taste in her mouth and that just wouldn't do.
So Chrissy decided to go out in search of berries and other delicacies
to make dessert buffet for that night's feast. Even someone as sour as
the menacing whorling would be sweetened by it! At least that's what she
hoped.
As she was walking along the path that would take her to the field of
berry bushes, she came upon a big orange and purple barrier. Expecting
some kind of daily visitor by now, Chrissy was not overly surprised.
"Hello there." she greeted, "Might I pass?"
Drowsy eyes looked her way as the serpentine dragon awoke. The orange
dragoness stretched her six limbs and her then fluttered her two sets of
wings. She yawned and moved out of the way.
"It was just so nice out that I couldn't resist a
nap." the dragoness excused herself.
Relieved that the newcomer was a much more genial sort, Chrissy relaxed:
"It's nothing, I'm just trying to get a sourpuss to sweeten up."
"That's a very nice thing to do. Can I help?"
"You certainly can!" Chrissy nodded and explained what she was planning.
"You can leave the preparations to Setozibael!"

On the nineth
night of Christmas, a party at Chrissy's house was in full swing when
the daily visitor arrived in a flurry of snowflakes that she'd breathed
herself. The bright red Deerdragon took a turn around the property,
flapping her silver wings that reflected the light. Within moments the
air sparkled as if strobelights had been set up.
"Good evening everyone!" she called out,
"I saw the party and couldn't resist coming along
to enjoy it! My name is Bona, who are you?"
Introductions were made all around and even the absent dragons were
introduced by proxy to the fun-loving deer who, though definitely
smaller than everyone else present, was just as big in personality if
not bigger than the others.
"Feel welcome to stay." Chrissy said when they finally parted for the
night, "I'd love to see more of you. Maybe you can help me with a few of
the events I have planned for the coming days?"
"I'd be delighted!" Bona agreed.

On the tenth day
of Christmas, Chrissy went iceskating on the nearby lake. A few dragons
accompagnied her but the ice on the water would not hold them so they
could do little aside from watch her do some turns and jumps.
"If only we couold harden the water." Chrissy sighed.
Not much after she'd uttered those words, a teal-spotted white water
dragon floated by, looking very much like he was swimming in the air.
"That can be arranged." the dragon
sent out to the others.
It hardly took as long as a breath for the water to firm just below the
ice, creating a surface strong enough to hold the dragons.
"Why thank you for your considerate action." Chrissy thanked the dragon,
"Will you be staying for the party later tonight? I was thinking of
holding it at home but with the lake so marvelouslly big, I think we
could stay here and dance the night away!"
The sea dragon felt very much excited by the prospect and started
broadcasting all kinds of ideas and plans that either he or the other
dragons could accomplish. It didn't take long for the plans to be
adjusted and for the dragon to be welcomed in the group.
"I must say, Tidecrest, you're a real asset!" Chrissy complimented.

On the eleventh
day of Christmas, Chrissy couldn't help but feel a bit sad that soon the
Season would be gone again. Some of the dragons clearly picked up on her
melancholy but there was little they could do aside from offering to
make the arrangements today.
Chrissy didn't know whether or not to be glad to egt a day off. She
really enjoyed planning the parties and the preparations were as much a
treat as the end result. But maybe some fresh air would help her get
over her less than stellar mood.
Taking a route through the forest, Chrissy soon found a sunny clearing
where she could sit and listen to the surrounding nature. Small animals
that had grown used to dragons -or maybe were still under Fesiss'
control- gathered around, doing whatever it is they were want to do.
A sudden rustling shook Chrissy from her meditation.
"Another visitor? Well I guess there's still time and place to get one
or two more."
"S-s-sorry."
a thought entered her mind.
"Oh don't worry, a diversion is just what I need."
Right before her eyes, a dragon seemed to materialise, only, he'd
already been there to start with and he was now just letting go of the
camouflage that had hid him from sight.
"I'd very much like to join... that is if it's
okay. ehm if you don't mind me coming..."
"You're very welcome to join."
"Thank you. You can
call me Ehma."

On the twelfth
day of Christmas, a minty green dragoness stalked around Chrissy's
realm. She was not all that happy. She'd been away on a trip and had
missed out on all the fun. Nobody had bothered to alert her.... maybe
because she'd insisted on not being disturbed, but those were details.
Sending out her mist-breath, she lulled everyone to sleep, leaving only
Chrissy awake to entertain her.
"Hello good Elf, I'm here for Christmas cheer
and delicious treats. Gifts are appreciated as well. So give'em to me!"
Chrissy looked at where all the other dragons lay sleeping.
"It will be hard to make it fun without company."
"Oh they will wake up in due time. Now it's
time for me!"
Chrissy agreed and together they concoted some basic dishes. The
decorations from the days before would serve another night and Chrissy
felt certain that Bona would help light up the place again after she
woke up. Even if Geo had robbed her of the last day of the Season.

Thought
When the dragons
awoke, the sun had set and stars twinkled in the sky. Lights shone from
the trees, savoury food was waiting and Chrissy was singing some carols.
Other voices, both verbal and telepathic, joined in and even the more
reclusive of her visitors appeared on this twelfth night.
Feeling a bit emotional, Chrissy set of her Cheer magic and speeched:
"I'm so happy all of you came to visit during this most wonderful time!
I'd hoped this could go on forever..."
"Why wouldn't it go on forever?" Geo
interrupted her, "It's not like we have
anywhere else to be. And I missed out on so much of the parties that I
need to catch up. I declare a new Christmas Season open starting
tomorrow!"
And was usually the case, no-one dared oppose the formidable
tantrum-maker.
