STATS
Name: Ledoru
Age: Ageless, virtually immortal unless intentionally killed
Gender: Female
Race: Dragonfly
Class:
Forest Guardian

Description: Ledoru is quite an enigma. She is a nothosaur (reptilian humanoid), but also possesses gauzy wings that resemble those of a dragonfly. She has scaled skin, a long reptillian tail and a draconic snout. Her earholes are protected by leathery fins that have little practical use.
Personality: Ledoru is quite sedate. She lives in a little forest that is connected to her through a symbiotic bond. The forest feeds her but receives protection from her in return. Should Ledoru be cut off from her forest she would eventually die while her forest might survive. But there is little chance of that happening so it does not worry this dragonfly. Ledoru is an entity with few wants or needs. She lacks ambition, jealousy and spite. She can get angry, but only when her forest is harmed. Because of her connection to the forest, she percieves time to be slow and flowing. A moment can feel like an eternity, a few years might pass in the blink of an eye.
Skills: Green Magic, Animal communication, Symbiosis (with her territory), Teleportation.

STORY
Ledoru moved through her forest with the grace of a butterfly in Summer. Branches yielded to her presence and thorns withdrew. Avoiding harm was an unconscious effort on ledoru's part, something that came as easy to her as breathing even if she could control it some degree.
All was well in her forest. As it should be. Over the past years, little had disturbed Ledoru's forest. At times a visitor entered. Some stayed and became part of the forest. others only stayed for a brief time. Their motives were plentiful. Some only sought shelter, others came to hunt or gather. Though losing a companion to a hunter hurt, it was the way of the world and Ledoru had come to accept it as a necessary evil in the same way one would prune a branch to promote growth in a tree.
But that didn't mean she had to like it. In fact, Ledoru was hesitant to do so and as such her forest could be a bit wild in the center where she let nature run free. Maybe if she'd have a little bit of help she would.... But no, there was little merit in thinking of a partnership when she'd not met another dragonfly in decades.
In the back of her mind though, the notion lingered. Sometimes she saw dragons flying overhead. They were far and few in between but they were there. Ledoru felt more drawn to them than to others venturing in and around her forest.
"Go." her forest breathed, giving her a little push.
"I shouldn't abandon my forest...." Ledoru thought, it wouldn't be right. Something could go wrong.
"Go." the animals urged, "Find companion."
When even the sleepy creek chimed in, Ledoru had no other choice but to take nature up on the offer.
"Call me when something happens." she insisted, sending extra energy into the link that bound her to the forest.
And then Ledoru took off, there was really only one way for her to go, Southwest, following the dragons' path. It must lead her somewhere, hopefully to where the dragons lived.

After a few days of travel, Ledoru reached  the home of the dragons. She was welcomed though odd looks followed her. Dragonflies were rare after all. Humans on the other hand were not and there were more than she was used to, crowding into their dwellings and streets.
Being pulled along, Ledoru was greeted and asked to state her business.
"I've come to seek a companion." she spoke truthfully.
"A human?" the person in charge asked.
Ledoru blinked and then hesitantly said: "A dragon?"
"Just checking." the person in charge replied, "But you're in luck, it won't be much longer now for the eggs to hatch. Elessadian dragons need to attach to a host. If it's meant to be, you'll be able to do so."
Ledoru did not feel a lot of reassurance by the person's words. Maybe they thought there would be too many humans and the dragons would not pick her. Whatever the case. ledoru would try. If it did not work out, she would return to her forest and put her wish for a companion away for another decade or so.

BONDING
Not too long a wait later, Ledoru was called to attend the hatching. She followed the messenger human to where others waited. All were nervous. Ledoru, as usual calm, put her faith in fate and waited. There was little else she could do. While eggs quivered and moved, she thought of home. Her symbiosis with her forest calming her. All was as it needed be. There was no danger.
It almost came as a surprise when a scaly nose, wet from hatching, touched her.
A new bond formed in ledoru's mind, a presence both separate and intertwined with her forest. The hatchling, an emerald green with iridescent wings and a mane of white hair seemed like a perfect fit.
"New friend, will you join me?" Ledoru asked.
The hatchling needed a little time to process everything new. When she was finally able to produce an answer, her words were still a bit stiff and awkward, but her message was clear.
"I, Trembling Leaf, will live with you. Overjoyed."

FLIGHT
Accomodating a dragon in a forest was not as easy as it sounded. But Ledoru's forest had graciously relinquished a place where Trembling Leaf could rest. It was a clearing, quite a bit larger than the dragon herself, but necessary for her to comfortably take off and land. A few rocks formed a bed, warmed by sun, a cosy patch of grass served as her favourite lounging space and of course, her favourite was the litle spot where Ledoru groomed her. Ledoru was always surrounded by nature, and it made Trembling Leaf's heart sing when she was near.
But dragons called to her too. Speaking of flight, adventure and worlds unseen.
"Would we be able to make a trip one day?" Trembling Leaf asked, "The dragons tell me of such wonderful worlds."
"I don't know...." Ledoru started.
But once again, her forest intervened.
"Go." it said as animals appeared from the long grass and the creek bubbled.
"Alright! Apparently we can take a trip."
