Name: Hunter
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Class: Jack-of-all-trades Description:
Hunter is a slender young man, more sinew than muscle with
a pale skin. His brown hair shifts to a subdued pink in some lighting and
his eyes have a peculiar purple sheen. There might be some pecularities in
his heritage or maybe one of his ancestors tinkered with their genes.
No-one in his family knows for sure. Despite his diminutive frame he has a
lot of physical skills that might again be tracked down to whatever
ancestor brought those genes into their bloodline. Whatever the case may
be, his entire family is highly suited for jobs that are physically
demanding.
Personality: Hard-working, conscientious and
inherently good, Hunter was always meant for a life on the right side of
the law. He was raised to be honest and to resist temptation when it might
mean that others could be hurt or duped. It's a narrow line, but with his
parents as example, Hunter is very much trying to live up to the ideal.
Everyone with such lofty ideals will need a way to unwind. For Hunter,
relaxation comes in a few different ways. He loves intense exercise like
mountain-climbing and endurance sports. But he also finds peace in
meditation and dream. He has a vivid imagination and uses it to think fast
when in a pinch.

BOND
Hunter kept his eyes trained on the surroundings. He'd
been given a temporary guard job at a Nexus Agency to see whether or not
it was something he would like to do. So far he'd also joined his uncle on
a search and rescue mission in the mountains and had helped his aunt on
surveillance. His parents both had private citizens to guard so bringing
their growing son to work was not as easy. Although Hunter could imagine
that his aunt and uncle had to have had pulled in a few favours to have
him tag along.
The search and rescue mission had been okay. He'd been suited to the task
because he often went mountain climbing. Surveillance work lacked the
necessary excitement and he'd been bored with it within the first half
hour, even if they did manage to make an arrest by the end of the day.
According to his aunt that was not a given so Hunter had scratched that
off his list.
Guarding buildings was very close to going the same route. With dragons
around, there really weren't many people crazy enough to try and do
something. The highlight of his day had been a little boy trying to sneak
past him to see te dragon eggs. Hunter had given him a stern talking to
and had then proceeded to call one of the dragonriders to give the boy a
tour. If only he'd asked up front, everything would have been good. By the
look of his starry eyes, he would later return when the hatching was
imminent. Hunter hoped he'd get lucky.
A little while later, Hunter's exceptional ears picked up a faint
crackling. He grinned as he raised the alarm along with the dragons. The
highlight of his day might change yet!
Candidates poured in, among them the boy who'd been along earlier. Hunter
saw him being led to the benches which meant he was probably too young to
bond just yet. Hunter turned his attention back to guarding but his eyes
kept flitting back to the eggs. Dragonets spilled out of eggs, protesting
in hunger until they found someone to help them.
Suddenly, a brown hatchling with a matrix-pattern and a spatter of rainbow
speckles was next to Hunter.
"Hungry! Wrayloth is hungry!" it
cried.
"Uhm, you should find someone to bond and then they'll get you to the
food." Hunter tried.
But then he realised, the dragon had done just that.... and had bonded
him.
An experienced dragonrider had noticed and volunteered to take over the
watch.
"Welcome to the life, boy." he said with a grin before he pushed Hunter
toward his new bond.

STATS
Name: Wrayloth
Gender: Male
Breed: Opal Court
Origin: The
Empyrean Stair (Court Clutch)
Colour: Matrix Brown
Size: Medium-sized
Basic Personality: Helpful and kind, Wrayloth
is a big teddybear. He does not have a threathening bone in his body which
is why Hunter will eventually decide to go in the search and rescue
business where Wrayloth's personality will be an asset to support those
panicking.
Abilities:
*Telepathy
*Teleportation
*Verbal Speech
*Prismatic Breath: The dragon produces a colorful magical spray
where other species might create fire or lightning when exhaling. This
cone of rainbows has variable effects based on the color that strikes
whatever they are aiming at.
*Genetic Memory: The dragon possesses very clear memories,
inherited from its ancestors, within its genetics, not unlike a library or
database. How far back these can be traced varies by the individual and
their Court heritage. (only passes on to direct descendants in a diluted
form)
*Trance: The means by which the dragon can access their inherited
memories, falling into a meditative state while reviewing their catalogue
of relevant experiences. Having this state disrupted causes no harm, but
may leave the dragon slightly disoriented, or with an unpleasant headache.
Reviewing memories occurs in an accelerated state, not unlike dreaming,
allowing the dragon to review days or weeks of continuous memory within
just a few minutes. (only passes on to direct descendants in a diluted
form)
*Discern Truth & Lies: The dragon is capable of detecting
whether or not an individual is knowingly lying - wholly or partially - or
speaking the truth as they know it. This is by no means the ability to
pick out absolute fact from fiction, but rather, the sense of what a
person believes is true or false as they speak it.
*Karmic Weight: The dragon levies a blessing or curse of some kind
on a target after passing judgment upon them. The severity or intensity of
the result tends to depend on whatever was being judged.
*Kismet: The dragon has incredibly good luck of their own, and
tends to be able to shrug off most bad luck and curse effects laid on them
by others. *-;-*-;-*-;-*-;-*-;-*-;-*-;-*-;-*-;-*-;-*-;-*-;-*-;-*-;-*-;-*-;-*
FLIGHT
Hunter dangled from the rocks, lowering himself down from
a mountain cliff.
"I could just fly us down." Wrayloth
offered.
"Then it wouldn't be training!" Hunter answered, "But thanks for the
offer. If this were an emergency i would take the offer."
Wrayloth felt validated and circled overhead before landing on the flat
top of the cliff. Draconic eyes looked down and Hunter could almost see
himself hanging but it wasn't exactly seeing, just a sort of knowing. It
was still disorienting. But good training.
"Oh if you like that, you should try a mating
flight. I hear it's quite the same." Wrayloth said.
"You've been getting information about those, right?"
"Well I'm almost full-fledged. It won't be long
now before I can enter."
"So I hear you saying you'd like to try."
"Got to start sometime."
"Okay." |
