Setting
Ripukeich strolled into the Witch's Garden one day like he owned the place and he's been a resident ever since. His flamboyant orange fur, bright white wings and deep purple skin with bone motive made him hard to miss. Rot took one look at the much smaller Terigon and decided it wasn't worth the hassle to try and expell him. At least Ripukeich knew better than to make a mess of the herbs or to steal herbs that might or might not be poisonous. And if he wanted to stage a Halloween play or performance, well it was a free world.

Whatever deep meaning Ripukeich's ritual dances and howling had, they did serve to attract a mate. The orange-striped green terigon with purple fur and green-tipped, brass-coloured wings approached carefully as to not distract the flamboyant male terigon. She enjoyed the show from the shadows, waited for the right moment and then pounced, landing on the bigger terigon's back.
Ripukeich shot up, his heart pounding, his eyes wide. When he noticed the intruder he relaxed a bit and toned down his reaction to a playful few taps to her shoulder instead of the violent slashes he'd meant to inflict. If Ajeilish was disappointed by the soft approach, she did not show it but she did amp up to retaliate in kind.
The two terigon frolicked in a mock-battle, entertaining the other inhabitants of the Witch's Garden with their antics. When both were exhausted, they stopped and slept where they'd fallen down.
Everything returned to it's peaceful state, but only for a while...

After said while, an unsuspecting Terigon with patchwork skin in purple, red and pink with black fur and orange eyes, moved closer to the territory of Ripukeich and his mate Ajeileish. The two watched as the intruder, a female by the smell of her, moved below them without a care in the world. She seemed blissfully unaware that she was tresspassing and that despite the obvious warning signs the duo had put up.
Ajeileish grinned and motioned to let her handle this. Ripukeich, curious to see what his made would do, let her make the first move. He nearly blew their cover when he saw her drop, suspended from a branch at breakneck speed. But it was all a calculated move. Dropping like a spider from the unseen shadows above, Ajeileish gave the Terigon a scare as had been her intention.
Only...
"Oh wow wow! You got me good! My heart is beating like crazy!"
"You should be scared, not amused." Ajeilish sulked.
"Oh but I am, I just love these things. It's like what the humans call an amusement park."
Ripukeich made use of the opportunity to appear, looming intimidatingly with his eyes aglow. But again the new Terigon only seemed to be entertained.
"Oh my! That's wonderful! You nearly had me screaming!" she laughed without abandon, "Do it again!"
"This is my, Ripukeich, and Ajeileish' domain. You should not be here." Ripukeich said, trying to be dominant.
"That's wonderful. I'm Sheifeisoi and I'm looking for a home. This place is amazing and the comapny's even better. I'll just stick around. Do point me in the direction of a cozy living space and I'll visit again tomorrow!"

Ghostly fire appeared above the desolate gravestones the small group of Terigon had set up. The three looked at each other to gauge who might be responsible for this new addition. Neither of the others suspected Sheifeisoi as she, a was her thing, gushed excitedly:
"Oh wow wow, this is such a cool stunt. Foxfire! It's all the craze in Animated Stories right now. It has such a delightfully eerie glow about it. It's just perfect."
"Was it you?" Ajeilish asked Ripukeich.
"Hmph, I wish it was. But no, I can't do this." Ripukeich replied.
As the trio discussed the unearthly flames, a presence in the shadows almost couldn't contain their glee. Saigen, a brightly-coloured Teritsune, had hidden himself away behind an illusion. But as illusions go, they had a difficult time hiding sounds. His neighing chuckles were finally picked up by Sheifeisoi who went to investigate what else was new today.
"Oh hey! We've got a new friend visit!" She called to the others.
Ajeilish pranced away while Ripukeich bristled his manes. But neither had anything to fear because Sheifeisoi was quite frightening in her enthusiasm. She shot of questions while sniffing and poking the newcomer who was starting to regret his joke a bit.
"Personal space please!" he finally called, submitting to the dauntless female.
"So what's your name and what's your game?" Sheifeisoi asked, finally backing off a bit.
"Saigen, Teritsunebi illusionist extraordinaire and traveller looking for a place to stay."
"Oh do join us, there's plenty of space." Sheifeisoi invited.
This elicited a suffering sigh from Ripukeich who could not rescind the invitation. He could only hope that the newcomer would occupy the whirlwind that was Sheifeisoi and then maybe he and Ajeilish could get back to playing house.
