Ovi and Green Sulenth

HATCHING

It was night when Ovi was awakened to stand for the hatching. Yawning and wiping tears out of her eyes she stumbled after the other candidates to the Hatching Sands.  Four dragonets were already waiting impatiently. Ovi wondered for a moment if one of those was hers... then maybe she'd be back in bed in little over half an hour.
But none of the small hatchlings came her way. Sad, but so be it. Yawning again Ovi calculated her now augmenting chances of impressing a dragon. Well there was little doubt she'd get one according to her calculations, but Ovi wasn't sure she trusted them completely. You see, she had heard that not all of these hatchlings bonded people. And indeed, some of the dragons were already gathering at the Sands opening to be led to their new homes.
Still thinking she suddenly heard a screech. A dark green dragonet had fallen down right in front of her, tripped over a small mound of sand. Ovi knew the feeling that brought on. She quickly knelt down and found that she knew the dragon's name.
"Sulenth! Are you ok?" she asked.
"Yes I'm fine now, Ovi, Thanks." the green answered.
How strange it felt to hear a voice inside your head and not worry about dissociate personality disorder. Almost important enough to make her forget about the dragoness at her feet.
"Yes?" Ovi asked.
"Can we go eat now? I'm really hungry. I could eat the better half of 2 wherries."
"Oh... yes, I do feel you're hungry. Let's get you full... and maybe in bed?"
"Bed sounds good." Sulenth yawned.

WEYRLING

Sulenth soared through the sky, Ovianskina on her back. They had been training hard to reach a higher, better, faster flight. Ovi was one of those psychologists who believed in full potential. For all she figured, greens had had less opportunity than golds to grow and develop muscles. A thing she didn't find too bad since it made greens smaller. But then she had swayed to the other side of the scale. If whites were only a little smaller, why then did everyone keep bragging about their speed.
That's how it had begun... and now they were flying, as fast as any white who tried to pass them. Though truth be told, Sulenth couldn't keep it up quite long, but maybe it would do her some good... perhaps in a mating flight?
But mating flights were far from happening soon. She'd have to find Raven first ;)

ADULT

"So this is Cy..." Ovi said.
"So it is." Sulenth answered. "Why are we here?"
"I want to find a friend of mine."
"He doesn't sound much like 'just a friend' in your thoughts... who is this Raven? He sounds interesting."
"He is very interesting, I could write a full thesis on his tendency to hide. It's not like we are living in the middle ages, shifters can be trusted."
"I don't know... someone half Raven." Sulenth remarked, "What if I accidentally eat him?"
"He knows better than to come between you and food dear."
"What do you think his dragon is like?" she asked.
"We'll find out soon enough." Ovi answered, pointing at the man she hadn't seen in over a year.
"Raven" she yelled and darted to him, followed by Sulenth's bulk trashing through Cy like she was flying through clouds.
"Let me guess, "Raven said smiling, "Your dragon."
"Got something against Sulenth?" Ovi asked innocently. "She would like to meet yours... as would I. What colour is it?"
"Mostly black." Raven said.
"Figures."
"You can find Corvosa there." Raven said pointing.
This time Sulenth was first. It was so that Ovi heard of what her friend had impressed.
"It's.... it's... It's..."
"What?!"
"It's a hydra!!!" Sulenth said baffled... "Should I even get close to it?"
"Raven wouldn't let it hurt us." Ovi shrugged, "I say we go for it."
Inside her head she was already busy trying to give a meaning to why Raven had impressed a Hydra. Maybe it was his personality which had always been rather split... but then why where there three heads?
"Not a bad question..." she mumbled, "Something I will have to ask him."
