THE HATCHING
There were Seven of them. Seven Candidates for 4 Eggs. They all knew some wouldn't impress. Eliany and Enyda hadn't been there from the start like for example Lokren. The boy was determined to impress a dragon, but none had so much as glanced at him yet. Then there were also Kelei and two dragons, looking to impress a mate.
Eliany looked around and set her eyes on the big egg. They had told her big eggs often contained bigger dragons, but the parents were a green and a blue, almost the smallest around. She couldn't make sense out of it and just decided to have fun and enjoy the situation. Unlike her sister. Enyda looked pale. She was very nervous, and no books or words around to hide after. She couldn't speak and she certainly couldn't run off to calm down. Enyda also looked at the big egg. Not because the size intrigued her, but because it was rocking more violently then the others.
A crack appeared in the middle.
Enyda and Eliany watched in awe as two baby emerald greens fell out of the egg. The twin dragonets shook their heads and got up, perfectly timed. Like a ballet. Then they looked closely at Enyda and Eliany and started running. With a sudden surge of knowing Enyda knew they were coming towards them, while Eliany just looked at the beauty and grace of their movements.
The pair came to a full stop in front of them.
"I am Dylith" the left one said.
"And I'm Pylith." the right one added.
Eliany and Enyda looked at each other, uncertain of what to do next. Both dragons answered:
"Tell them."
"This one is Pylith" Eliany said, pointing to the dragonet in front of her.
"Dylith is her name." Enyda softly added, busy with stroking the magnificent creature, and no doubt examining it's physical properties already. Eliany shook her head and pulled her sister off the hatching sands.

WEYRLINGS
"We totally left that brown behind!" Eliany shouted excited, "We're the best racing team ever!"
"I know."
Pylith said, "I'm very fast."
Eliany giggled. "I know you are, now let's win this race!"
2 dragons later and in second position Eliany braced herself.
"Faster Pylith!"
Eliany told her dragon. "We can beat that blue and come in first if we get it right!"
"ok, I'm passing him from the left." Pylith replied.
They were halfway passed the blue when Enliany realised something was wrong. Pylith felt her rider's confusion and looked back, trying to find what was bothering her. She couldn't find a thing and looked forward again. She barely avoided the collision with the mountain peaks by making a U-turn. Unfortunately, that was when Eliany's riding straps broke from her sudden fall sideways.
When she was falling, she thought only one thing: "Why had she forgotten to check them?"
Then she hit the ground, her fall broken by the grass. She lost consciousness.

PYLITH

DYLITH

"Eliany!" Enyda yelled loud enough to wake every dragon at Ryslen. They had been there half a year know and their dragons had grown to weyrling status.
Enyda and Dylith had been on message duty when she had heard about the fall. She had rushed back to Ryslen and hoped nothing serious had happened to Eliany. They had contacted Pylith, but the green couldn't tell them anything besides Eliany was still alive. The dragon sounded concerned. Enyda had pondered on the way back about how it was possible she heard her sister's dragon and vice versa while others couldn't. More negative than she was used to be, she wondered what would happen to Pylith if Eliany died. Would she and Dylith be enough to stay behind of would she follow Eliany in dead? Suddenly she stopped thinking. It was bad luck to think like this. Eliany would pull through and they'd have many years of joy, love and friendship left. Enyda wanted them to one day look back on their lives, 2 old grey ladies, while about 20 grandchildren were crawling around them.
"Enyda! She's in here. The doctor says she'll be fine after a week or two."
Both dragons and Enyda sighed their relief at those words. Thankfully Enyda looked up at the woman who led her in the room. She had to remember her face to thank her later.

ADULTS
"Enyda! I'm going out!" Eliany yelled.
"Ok, Be carefull and be home before midnight!!!" she shouted back.
"I will!"
It was Eliany's birthday and they had planned a small party. Only Enyda, the dragons and a few friends were envited. They'd have a big fire on the beach and roast some wherry and fruits above it. Eliany's favourite food had always been barbeque. Enyda had even attempted to make a sauce that tasted a lot like Tabasco.
"Pylith...who is she meeting?" Enyda asked.
"Don't know." Pylith answered.
"Dragons! They know all they aren't supposed to know and nothing of what we want to know...Can you at least tell me if it is a boy?"
"It's not a boy."

"darn! I was so sure!"

Eliany let her feet dangle in the water and watched the stars. It had been over a year that they'd lived here. She hardly ever thought about home anymore. Home was here, at Ryslen. But still, on some nights she could still feel it...
"Aren't you happy to be here?" the duo voices of Dylith and Pylith sounded in her mind.
"Of course I am, but it was my home..."
"Enyda never sees it that way." Dylith said.
"She doesn't? I was certain she'd be the one to get homesick."
"Not with all the new she still sees every day."
"I guess."
She sighed and pulled her feet out of the water.
"Let's get to that barbeque before the roast gets cold."
