The Glitz Sisters &
The Rainbow Brothers

The two brightly coloured sisters had stayed together after hatching and while growing up and training. They had favoured each other's company above that of others and it was not surprising. They matched each other well. Where Karikith was responsible and even-tempered, Plekuzuth was fun-loving and passionate. While Karikith was caring, Plekuzuth loved to be pampered. Even their abilities mirrored each other. If records hadn't been kept, one would assume that they'd hatched from the same egg as twins. But in fact that hadn't been the case.
"I want to go somewhere new." Plekuzuth remarked.
"Isn't it nice here?" Karikith asked.
"I'm tired of being one of the many glitzy dragons around. I want to be unique!"
"You're already unique though."
"I meant I'd like to stand out." Plekuzuth sulked.
"You'd better pick out one of the old worlds to visit then. The newer places are probably already rife with neon colours."
Karikith had never intended to veto her sister's wishes. She never did and never would and she was quite alright with that. Watching her purple sister's antics was fun in it's own way. And being there to support her was a reward in itself. Watching Plekuzuth glow was all the reward she needed and the faint odour of freshly mowed grass permeated the air.
"You'll have to take us there though." Karikith warned, "You know I'm bad at teleporting."
Plekuzuth nearly sparkled with joy as she was considering the different places they might go. There was Pern of course. Couldn't think about oldworld and not mention it, but it was so yesterday. Everybody had been and Plekuzuth did not want to follow trends. She preferred to create them. Some worlds she discarded by the large number of coloured dragons around. Worlds like Danach and Syl'Neriss would not appreciate her bright stripes or radiant fur. Then her eye landed on Alskyr.
"Alskyr." she said, tasting the name.
"Oh, I haven't heard about that planet in a while. It was in style quite a while ago though." Karikith mused.
"Then it should be quiet! Just the place I need to go to get some attention!"

Across the galaxy, at the Healing Den, two brothers had done much the same. Dara'rae-lelth, Darae for short and Delmarr-lelth, who also preferred to shorten his name, had not yet bonded. Time was ticking as their parents knew that they could only survive like this for a short amount of time. They urged the two boys to bond each other.
"Consider it, you get along well." they'd pleaded.
"I will only do so if there are no other options." Delmarr had insisted.
The rusty brown dragon would have been drab if not for the rainbow of colours that ran from the top of his head to the tip of his tail, covering the places that were visible from above. He wasn't interested in fame or fortune, but he did want to find that one enitity that was his other half. He would look for them until the last possible second.
"We will certainly find our mates." Darae had agreed.
The red dragon was vrighter than his brother, with rainbow-speckling all over his shoulders and wings, he turned heads wherever he went. He could have easily bonded, he was after all less of a romantic than Delmarr. But Darae felt that his brother's happiness was worth the risk.
So the two brothers left the Healing Den for the Nexus, visiting worlds and looking for their mates. They only stuck around briefly at each world as time was of the essence. On Pern they flew from North to South, trading tradition for innovation but finding none that would suit them. On Danach they flew in a different coloured sky and while they noticed plenty of available dragons, some of them were just a bit too odd for words. On Tris'Hath they quickly found themselves in need of aid but luckily received help. But alas, not even the hathians seemed to be compatible with Delmarr who, with his telepathy scanned the planets as soon as he reached them.

But then, when they landed on Alskyr, Delmarr's ping was returned.
"She is here!" he exclaimed, "Plekuzuth!"
"Can you locate her?" Darae asked.
"She's coming for us."
And truth be told, not five breaths later, a dashing purple dragoness appeared in front of the two brothers.
"Who was it that so valiantly sang my praises?" Plezukuth inquired.
She'd received plenty of praises but none as honest. She'd known that the entity behind the telepathic message was her bond. And as the link had led her to two dragons, she could only conclude that she had also found her mate.
Behind her a rumbling cough sounded. In her haste, plezukuth had pulled Karikith into the teleport as she was used to doing.
"I believe my sister means to say: 'Nice to meet you.' She is Plezukuth Auradance and I'm her sister, Karikith."
Plezukuth's hide blushed a deep pink and she said: "Where are my manners?"
"You were overcome by emotion." Karikith sushed.
It was after all evident by the strong smell of irises in the air. In fact, everything about her sister seemed a little disheveled which was unusual. Karikith got ready to use her powers or aura and light to rectify the situation as Plezukuth would definitely be mortified when she realised this, but she was stopped.
"Allow me." Delmarr said.
Suddenly strands of long fur lifted and straightened, a ripple ran across Plezukuth's hide as it was tenderly groomed to perfection.
"Oh!" Plezukuth sighed and the two looked deep into each other's eyes, lost in a world of their own.
Darae turned his eyes on the sister. He quite liked what he saw. She was a vibrant green, looking as though sunlight was filtered through a canopy of leaves. His mind had never come this close to poetry but it seemed Faith had led him to his own destiny by looking out for his brother.
"Enchanted." he said, meaning every word, "I'm Dara'rae-lelth and that swooning brown dragon is my brother Delmarr."
